2027 Furry Convention Calendar: Early Dates & Planning Guide

As of September 2026, 77 furry conventions we track have published dates for their 2027 editions, and the 2027 furry convention calendar below lists every one of them, month by month. Anthrocon and Eurofurence have both announced, so the summer anchors are set. Midwest FurFest, Megaplex and Biggest Little Fur Con have not, and they are listed as TBA further down rather than guessed at.

The front of the year is the crowded part. Twenty conventions start between December 30 and the end of February, ten of them in February alone, and five of those share the first weekend of the month. For comparison, see how 2026 shaped up in our full-year audit.

This calendar is rebuilt from our convention pages each time it is updated, and new 2027 dates are added as conventions announce them.

Every published convention on FurryGuides with a 2027 start date is in these tables, sorted by start date. The count after each month is the number of conventions starting that month. A theme reads TBA until the convention reveals it, and "unconfirmed" means the date is on our convention page but the convention's own site or channels do not currently show it.

New Year's Furry Ball opens the January table even though it starts on December 30, 2026, because it is the convention's 2027 edition and runs into the new year.

January 2027: Starting Strong

Painted Desert Fur Con (January 1-3, Phoenix)

Painted Desert has held the New Year's weekend slot two years running, and it grew from 1,412 attendees in 2025 to 2,064 in 2026. We list January 1-3, 2027 at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown, but we have not been able to confirm those dates from the convention's own site, which shows nothing about 2027 yet. Treat them as provisional until PDFC posts them.

JMoF (January 8-10, Tokoname)

Japan Meeting of Furries returns with "Lost in Transit -Adrift at Centrair-," an airport theme that matches its new home. For 2027 the convention moves to the Aichi Sky Expo in Tokoname, the exhibition centre beside Chubu Centrair International Airport, after recent years at the Loisir Hotel Toyohashi. JMoF drew a record 2,524 attendees in 2026 under the "Ocean's Furteen" theme.

Four Conventions on January 14-18

The FC-ANE overlap is back. In 2026 both ran on the same January weekend, and the 2027 dates repeat it: FC runs January 14-18 in San Jose and ANE runs January 14-17 in Boston. FC has announced "FC Land: The Wildest Ride in The Fandom" as its 2027 theme, following 2026's "The Beach Episode". ANE has announced "Sleepytime!" and is spread across the Westin Boston Seaport District and the Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport.

Neither is small. FC counted 6,621 badges in 2026 and ANE drew 7,284, so vendors, artists and performers have to pick one. Europe has its own pair that week: Canthrofur runs January 14-18 in Saint-Sauves-d'Auvergne, France ("Evening of Mysteries"), and Anthros and Alpine runs January 14-17 at Noresund in Norway. Frosty Fur Fest (January 29-31, Baton Rouge)

Frosty Fur Fest debuted in February 2026 with the "Winter Wonderland" theme and 515 attendees. Its second edition was listed for January 29-31 at the Baton Rouge Marriott, a new venue and an earlier slot. Since then the convention's website has gone offline, so we mark those dates unconfirmed until Frosty Fur Fest says where it stands.

February 2027: The Cluster

Ten conventions start in February, and only one weekend of the month has a single convention on it. Here is how it breaks down.

Weekend 1 (Feb 4-9): Five at Once

This is the most crowded stretch on the 2027 calendar so far. Five conventions overlap across three continents:

• FurSquared (Feb 4-7, Milwaukee) drew 2,795 attendees to its 2026 "RenFur², The Royal Tournament" edition and raised $32,500 for HAWS. Its 2027 theme is "F2K", again at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center.
• Get Out The Float (Feb 4-7, Seaside, Oregon) is the inflatable and charity fursuit event that grew to 407 attendees in 2026. Its 2027 theme has not been announced.
• Palmetto Anthro Weekend (Feb 4-8, Greenville, South Carolina) holds its first edition at the Crowne Plaza Greenville with a Valentine's theme, "Fur In Love".
• Scotiacon (Feb 5-8, Glasgow) has announced "Massive in the Metropolis". Attendance went from 1,170 in 2024 to 1,681 in 2025 and 2,335 in 2026. Registration runs through a lottery, so you cannot count on buying a badge at the last minute. For more on European planning, see our Europe cons guide.
• Furcamp (Feb 5-9, Embu-Guaçu, Brazil) goes sci-fi with "Galactic Groove!". It is a camping convention, held around Carnival, and in 2027 it moves to Acampamento Aruanã in São Paulo state.

AnthroExpo used to open February too. It ran February 5-8 in 2026 and drew 1,867 attendees with "Corporate Takeover", but hotel renovations move its 2027 edition to Memorial Day weekend, May 27-30, with the "Maskfurade" theme.

Weekend 2 (Feb 13-15): Furnal Equinox

Furnal Equinox has this weekend to itself. It is a year of change for FE: the convention moves from its usual March slot (2026 ran March 20-22) to mid-February, and to the Sheraton Centre Toronto after years at the Westin Harbour Castle. The 2026 "Starbound Sabbatical" was the farewell to the old hotel. Attendance has held between 3,637 and 3,690 for three years, so the larger venue gives it room. The 2027 theme has not been announced. Toronto in February is genuinely cold, so plan suiting and travel accordingly.

Weekend 3 (Feb 18-21): Capital Fur Con and Melbourne Fur Con

Capital Fur Con (Feb 18-21, Oxon Hill, MD) makes its debut at the Gaylord National Resort near Washington D.C. with the theme "Launch". It is a 21+ only event, and registration is already open with early-bird pricing on its tier pages. Three airports serve the area (DCA, IAD, BWI).

On the other side of the world, Melbourne Fur Con runs February 19-21 at the Novotel Melbourne Preston with the theme "Realms Below", after a record of over 1,000 attendees in 2026.

Weekend 4 (Feb 24-28): NordicFuzzCon and Lone Star

The month closes with two conventions running at the same time:

• NordicFuzzCon (Feb 24-28, Malmö, Sweden) announced "Crime Noir" at its 2026 closing ceremony. It set a record of 5,957 attendees in 2026 and is the largest European convention of the winter. Fly into Copenhagen Airport (CPH) and take the train across the Øresund Bridge to Malmö.
• Lone Star Fur Con (Feb 25-28, Austin) returns for its third year with the "Mix Tape" theme. It grew from 880 attendees at its 2025 debut to 1,179 in 2026, sold out under an attendance cap, and moves to the Hilton Austin Airport for 2027.

For most people an ocean settles this one. The attendees it squeezes are vendors and performers who work both the US and European markets.

March to June: Spring Overlaps

March matches January and February with ten conventions. The busiest weekend is March 17-21, when Gdakon in Sopot ("Mad Science"), Anthropolis in Bussang, Motor City Furry Con in Detroit and Texas Furry Fiesta in Dallas all overlap.

May has two clusters. Furry Weekend Atlanta runs May 6-9 with the "Grand Prix" theme, and drew 17,301 attendees in 2026. The same week brings AnthroTales in Mons and Les Furfurieux in Metz. Memorial Day weekend then stacks AnthroExpo (May 27-30), ConFuzzled in Birmingham (May 28 to June 1, "XXTREME Racing") and Kemono Square in Shizuoka (May 30).

July to October: Anthrocon, Eurofurence and the Second Half

Anthrocon announced its 2027 edition in its own closing-numbers post after the 2026 convention: July 1-4, 2027 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, themed "LEVEL 30: BEGIN" for its 30th convention. It comes off a record 20,618 attendees in 2026.

Eurofurence announced EF31 on its official Telegram and Bluesky: August 18-22, 2027 at the CCH in Hamburg, themed "Midnight at the Lab". Eurofurence drew 9,139 in 2026. Ticket prices and Guests of Honor for 2027 have not been published.

The second half is thinner so far only because many conventions announce their next edition at or after their current one. September already has six, including the week-long Furry Cruise (September 19-26), and October has one, Las Vegas Howlfest. Expect this part of the calendar to fill in fastest.

Still Waiting On

These conventions have not announced 2027 dates. The list covers every one we track that drew at least 1,500 people in 2025 or 2026. Midwest FurFest and Biggest Little Fur Con are on it because their 2026 editions have not happened yet. The middle column shows when the 2026 edition ran, which is the best guide to where 2027 will land, but none of these 2027 dates are known.

Midwest FurFest announces its next edition at its own closing ceremonies, so its 2027 dates are most likely to arrive in December 2026. Megaplex's last substantive post was its 2026 wrap-up (12,542 attendees and $100,000 for the Florida Wildlife Federation), with nothing about 2027. Anthrocon and Midwest FurFest together drew over 35,000 attendees in 2025, so the December announcement will fill the biggest remaining gap on this calendar.

Planning Ahead: What to Do Now

2026 is not finished yet (check our summer and fall 2026 guide for what is still coming), but there are practical steps you can take for 2027.

Watch hotel blocks for winter cons. January and February conventions tend to open hotel blocks 6-8 months ahead, which puts most of them in the coming weeks. If you are targeting FC, ANE, NFC or FurSquared, follow their announcement channels. Ten February conventions draw on the same pool of travelers, so blocks may fill faster than usual.

Request time off for February early. If your workplace plans schedules quarterly, now is the time to get February 2027 on the books. The first and last weekends of the month are where the clashes sit.

Budget for the January-February stretch. The calendar holds twenty conventions starting between December 30 and February 28. Nobody is going to all of them, but two or three in this window is common. Two cons on the same weekend is not realistic, because every February overlap involves different cities, and most involve different countries.

How do I choose between overlapping conventions?

Start with geography and budget. If one con is a short drive and the other needs a flight, the answer is usually clear. For equal-distance choices, weigh convention size, venue, theme, and where your friend group is heading. The FC and ANE decision often comes down to West Coast or East Coast friends.

When should I book hotels for 2027 cons?

As soon as the convention's hotel block opens. For winter cons, that is typically 6-8 months before the event. Follow each convention's newsletter and announcement channels to catch the opening. Booking inside the block gets you the negotiated rate and keeps you in the same building as the action, and once it fills, nearby hotels charge standard rates.
