Ibercon is a furry convention in Madrid that serves the Iberian Peninsula's furry community, drawing attendees from both Spain and Portugal. Programming runs in Spanish, English, and Portuguese, and the event uses a tiered registration model with Bronze, Silver, and Gold badge levels.
Running from April 30 to May 3, 2026, Ibercon is taking over the Novotel Madrid Center with an amazing "Y2K Nostalgia" theme! Prepare for neon, dial-up, and throwback aesthetics as the convention celebrates the wild aesthetics of the early 2000s.
Ibercon features the convention mascots Adri (the Iberian Wolf) and Bobi (the Portuguese Podengo), and offers a tiered registration model with Bronze, Silver, and Gold badges. If you want premium perks alongside your access to the Fursuit Parade, raves, and charity events, book early.

Fly into Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD), one of Europe's busiest hubs with connections worldwide. From the airport, take Metro Line 8 to Nuevos Ministerios, then transfer to Line 6 (Circular) to reach the Novotel Madrid Center area. The entire trip from terminal to venue takes about 35 minutes. Madrid's AVE high-speed rail network connects the city to Barcelona (2.5 hours), Seville (2.5 hours), and Valencia (1.5 hours) from Atocha and Chamartín stations.

The convention is held at the Novotel Madrid Center, a centrally located hotel within easy reach of Madrid's major attractions. Convention-rate rooms are available through the event's booking system. The hotel sits in a well-connected neighborhood with restaurants, supermarkets, and metro stations nearby. Budget-conscious attendees can also find hostels and apartments throughout Madrid's central districts.
Ibercon 2026 ran April 30-May 3 at Novotel Madrid Center with a Y2K Nostalgia theme and guests of honor Max Fluffy, RygelSPKB, and Haps. In January 2026, four months out, the organizers said on Bluesky that more than 500 registrations were already confirmed, and they posted a recap video after the weekend. That January figure is a registration count, not a headcount: Ibercon has published no final attendance total for the edition.
Ibercon's inaugural edition ran May 1-4, 2025, at the Rafael Hoteles Atocha in Madrid. It was the first furry convention in Spain since Furrnion ceased operations in 2019, filling a two-year gap in the Iberian furry scene. The event was a joint project between the Asociacion para la Cultura Furry Espanola and the Portuguese Associacao Eufurria, making it the first pan-Iberian furry convention. Programming was offered in Spanish, English, and Portuguese.

Entire -1 floor of the largest Novotel in the world
Ibercon 2026 takes over the entire -1 convention floor of the Novotel Madrid Center, billed as the largest Novotel in the world by room count (790 keys, including 6 suites and 16 accessible rooms). The convention runs across ten named, soundproofed halls plus the central lobby, all on one floor: Madrid Hall is the main stage with full LED screens and PA; Lisboa Hall houses the Dealers Den; Oporto Hall is an enlarged Fursuit Lounge with two side rooms, central lobby, exclusive restrooms, fans, private changing areas, a fridge and freezer, plus snacks and drinks; Barcelona Hall splits between board games and a designated quiet zone; Granada Hall is ConOps and the info desk; Alicante Hall is the divisible activities space. Capacity is rated at 1,000+, roughly double the 2025 inaugural edition, and the whole footprint sits below ground in a single contiguous floor.
Application-gated registration with capped Silver and Gold tiers
Ibercon does not sell tickets on a first-come or open-checkout basis. Attendees must first create an account on entrada.ibercon.org (with a mandatory 18+ age check), then submit a reservation form selecting a tier, Early Bronze, Early Silver, Early Gold, then standard Bronze, Silver, or Gold once the early-bird window closes. The Ibercon team reviews each request manually, typically within 2-3 days. If accepted, the attendee receives an emailed payment link that is valid for 14 days; missing the window forfeits the slot. The Silver and Gold tiers are both explicitly capped, verbatim from the FAQ, "Silver and Gold tiers are both limited in number, so [upgrade] is not possible if no further tickets of the higher tier are available." One-day passes only release after the four-day tiers sell out, and availability is never guaranteed.
Every badge bundles 4 bar drinks + a stacked partner-discount block
Every Bronze, Silver, and Gold ticket includes 4 complimentary bar drinks courtesy of Ibercon, an unusual universal-tier perk for an 18+ European con (most cons reserve open-bar mechanics for top-tier sponsors). Badge-bearing attendees also stack a 20% Novotel room discount, 10% off Iberia flights, and 10-25% off at five nearby restaurants (Parador del Jamón, Urban Poke O'Donnell, Burgerjazz with code IBERCON25, Con Sazón O'Donnell, Hot Perrote). The discount block runs across travel, lodging, and food rather than the usual hotel-only deal furry cons negotiate.
