About FurryGuides
FurryGuides is a reference site for the furry fandom, covering conventions, fursuit care, community tools, and a creator directory. We maintain profiles for 160+ conventions across 40+ countries, with verified dates, attendance figures, and travel information.
What We Cover
Convention Profiles
We maintain a large, independently compiled directory of furry conventions worldwide. Each profile includes multi-year attendance data, venue and travel details, accommodation tips, and event highlights. Convention data is sourced from official convention websites, post-con reports, and community records.
Fursuit Care Guides
Practical guides covering cleaning, storage, repair, cooling, transport, and accessories for fursuit owners. Our care guides reference specific products and techniques used by experienced suiters.
Community Tools
Free browser-based utilities built for the fandom, including image-to-Telegram sticker converters. No accounts or downloads required.
Furry-Made Apps & Tools
A directory of apps and tools built by and for the furry community.
Our Editorial Approach
Fact-first writing: We lead with verifiable data -- attendance numbers, dates, locations, prices -- rather than subjective opinions.
Source transparency: Convention data is aggregated from official convention websites, social media announcements, and community-maintained records. Where specific figures are cited, we note the source year.
SFW content: All content is safe for work and appropriate for all ages.
Regular maintenance: Convention profiles are reviewed and updated on a rolling basis. Each profile shows a "Last Updated" date so readers can assess freshness.
Who Maintains This
FurryGuides is maintained by a small editorial team with direct experience in the furry fandom. Our contributors have collectively attended conventions across North America and Europe, owned fursuits, and participated in the community for over a decade.
We do not publish individual bylines at this time, but all content is reviewed for factual accuracy before publication. If you spot an error, please contact us -- we take corrections seriously.
Data Sources
Our convention data comes from:
- Official convention websites and social media accounts
- Post-convention reports and attendance announcements
- Public furry convention calendars and wikis
- Direct correspondence with convention organizers
We cross-reference multiple sources where possible and mark unverified data as projected.
Why This Site Exists
We built FurryGuides because we went looking for one and could not find it. There was no single place with solid, current information on furry conventions: which ones exist, when they run, how big they are, what they cost, how to get there, and where to stay. That information was scattered across a hundred convention sites, dead forum threads, and social media posts that vanish.
So we sat down and researched every convention we could find, one at a time. It took hours upon hours upon hours, and it is still going. The point was never to build a business. It was to put the information somewhere and give it back to the fandom, so the next person planning their first convention does not have to do what we did.
If you find something wrong, we are sorry, and we would genuinely like to know. With this many conventions across this many countries, in this many languages, some details will be out of date or simply incorrect. We check what we can against official sources and we correct things quickly when they are reported, but we would rather admit up front that errors exist than pretend the whole corpus is perfect. Tell us and we will fix it.
Full Transparency
Keeping every date current is the hardest part of this, and we will not pretend we always manage it. Conventions move dates, change venues, and raise registration prices, sometimes announced in a single post on one social account. We track the better part of 200 conventions and dozens of recurring events across dozens of countries, and checking all of them by hand every week is not something a small team can honestly promise. What we do instead: automated checks against official sites and announcements, a rolling manual review that works through the list, and a "Last Updated" stamp on every profile so you can see for yourself how fresh a page is. If something looks out of date, it may well be, and a reported error goes to the front of the queue.
We have put a great many hours into this, unpaid, because we wanted to give something back. Nobody here draws a salary from FurryGuides. It exists because the information was scattered and somebody had to sit down and gather it.
We use AI to help us write the code. We think you should know that rather than find out. We are software engineers, and this is a very large site: hundreds of pages, dozens of tools and tests, an image pipeline, and a great deal of plumbing. Building all of it by hand alone is not realistic, so we use AI assistance for parts of the engineering work, in small pieces, with a human reviewing what ships.
We do not support AI-generated art, and we do not use it here. Art is the fandom's beating heart and it belongs to the people who make it. Generated images take that work without paying for it or crediting it. We would rather have a plain page than a page decorated with something a machine took from artists.
We are looking for artists. If you make furry art and would like to work with us on artwork for the site, we would love to hear from you, and we intend to pay for it. Get in touch through the contact form.
Supporting FurryGuides
FurryGuides is free to use, and we intend to keep it that way. We run no banner ads, no pop-ups, and no tracking pixels.
The site still costs real money to run: servers, the image CDN, domains, and the tooling behind the research. That is covered by:
- Carefully selected affiliate partnerships, clearly disclosed
- A small number of paid featured listings in the creator directory, always labelled as such
- Community support
Affiliate relationships and featured listings never influence our editorial content, our convention write-ups, or our recommendations. Full detail is in our affiliate disclosure.
