Unlike large trade-show-style conventions, Fauntastic focuses on art, creativity, and social connection. Attendees are as likely to be in board game sessions in the lounge areas as at the dance. The nearest airport is Lyon-Saint Exupery Airport (LYS), a major international hub roughly 20 minutes from the venue by shuttle or taxi. The Rhonexpress tram connects the airport to Lyon Part-Dieu station in 30 minutes, and from there local transport reaches Bron. Lyon's TGV high-speed rail hub makes the convention accessible from Paris (under 2 hours), Marseille (1.5 hours), and direct trains from Geneva, Brussels, and Barcelona. The Novotel Lyon Bron Eurexpo is near the Eurexpo exhibition complex, east of Lyon's city center.

The associative bar with Association Membership as bar-access licence
Fauntastic's Q&A separates the bar from the rest of the convention: attendees pay a separate "Association Membership" line on the invoice to access it, framed as a per-event associative-bar pass, "a fee that allows you to access the convention's associative bar; valid only during the event."
Pretalx-driven CfP, unusual at furcon scale
Fauntastic runs its panel call-for-proposals on Pretalx (open-source self-hosted, at `pretalx.fauntastic.eu/fauntastic-2026/cfp`), the same conference scheduling tool used by FOSDEM and Chaos Communication Congress. Most peer French furcons collect panel pitches by Google Form or Telegram DM; a structured Pretalx CfP at this attendee scale (~500) is an outlier.
Doubles-only room inventory, no singles or triples
Every Fauntastic residential room at the Novotel Lyon Bron Eurexpo is a double for two people, there are no single rooms, no suites, no triples, and no extra beds permitted. Attendees pick between "double bed" (one large bed shared) and "twin beds" (two singles), and solo attendees are matched with a roommate by the org rather than being given a private room.
