TrashCån is a small yearly furry convention held at Stettli Resort above Churwalden, near Parpan in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. It is run by Verein TrashFurs, a Swiss non-profit association, and the whole convention lives inside one mountain resort, with attendees sleeping, eating and partying in the same few houses. The name plays on both "trash can" and "trash con", and the å is pronounced like an "o".
The fourth edition of TrashCån runs September 15-19, 2027, again at Stettli Resort. That is about six weeks later in the year than the 2026 edition, which ran in early August. The dates went out on the official Telegram channel on September 23, 2026, with pricing and registration details promised for the website soon after. Registration is not open yet.
For 2026 the regular ticket cost CHF 615, which covered four nights of accommodation and catering as well as the convention itself. Treat that as a guide to the budget rather than the 2027 price.
TrashCån is the opposite of a big hotel convention. In 2025 it had 59 attendees, and the organizers describe it as small and cozy. The ticket bundles your bed and meals, which makes it closer to a furry holiday in the Alps than a weekend of panels. The resort sits in forested mountain country with pastures, a sauna and a spring-fed cooling pool, and the evenings run on karaoke, board games, cocktails and a campfire. The organizers lean into the raccoon joke in the name, from the raccoon meet and greet to the green trash can that attendees cover in stickers.
The price for 2027 has not been announced. The figure is from 2026, for reference only, so check the convention's own site before you budget.
≈ $ figures are approximate US dollars, rates as of 9 Oct 2026 from ExchangeRate-API open access.
Stettli Resort is in the mountains between Chur and Lenzerheide, at Stettli 23, 7075 Churwalden. The organizers say it takes a bit under two hours from Zurich by car or train, and about 20 minutes from Chur by car or bus.
By train and bus: Take the train to Chur, then PostBus line 182 towards Lenzerheide, which leaves from stop M on the top floor of the station every 30 minutes. The ride takes 27 minutes; get off at Churwalden, Rüti. From the stop a signposted, unpaved footpath reaches the resort in about ten minutes. Do not walk along the road, which the organizers describe as dangerous. In past years a staff member collected heavy luggage by van if you messaged ahead on Telegram.
By car: In 2026 the resort had parking directly on site, with overflow spaces at the Gemeinschaftsstall Churwalden, a short walk away. Parking cost CHF 10 per night and had to be booked in advance with your registration.
By air: Fly into Zurich and continue by train to Chur.

You stay at the convention. The regular ticket includes a room at Stettli Resort, so there is no separate hotel block to book. The resort is made up of three apartments in two buildings, Tgiesa Solaria, Muntanella and Capricorn, each with its own shared living room and fully equipped kitchen. Rooms come as doubles, twins, triples and quads, and most have a private bathroom with a shower and toilet. A few special rooms have bunk beds or share a bathroom, and some are decorated in themes such as ski or farm. During registration you can list your preferred room types and the roommates you would like, and the organizers try to match those requests without guaranteeing them. Room assignments appeared in attendees' registration details a few weeks before the 2026 convention. The resort provides bedsheets and towels. Day ticket holders cannot sleep at the venue, and the rules forbid hosting them in your room overnight, so a day visitor would need a hotel in Chur or the surrounding villages. Bring swimwear and a towel for the sauna and pool, and good shoes for the footpath.

The third TrashCån ran August 5-9, 2026 at Stettli Resort, a day longer than before, running Wednesday to Sunday. A heatwave led the canton to ban open fires, so the campfire stayed unlit, and the programme included a Mario Kart 64 tournament, a pub quiz and a hackathon.
The second edition moved to Stettli Resort from July 31 to August 3, 2025 and grew to 59 attendees. It had a karaoke night at the Stivetta restaurant, a board game corner and a raccoon meet and greet, with Kerpė as Guest of Honour.
TrashCån began in September 2024 at Ferienhaus Itelfingen in Meierskappel, a cottage on the shore of Lake Lucerne. It was organised by iveks and Lotor and had 16 attendees.
