2027: Lost in Transit -Adrift at Centrair-

Japan Meeting of Furries (JMoF) 2027 is scheduled for Jan 8-10, 2027 at Aichi Sky Expo (Aichi International Exhibition Center). The announced theme is Lost in Transit -Adrift at Centrair-.

High-Precision Culture

JMoF distinguishes itself through a communal schedule format. Rather than fragmented room parties common at Western conventions, JMoF centers on shared experiences, most notably the Wolf Moon Party, a pre-convention standing reception that brings the full attendance together. The Fursuit Creators' Competition adds a trade-show dimension, showcasing high-precision costume design and craftsmanship.

What Are the Highlights of Japan Meeting of Furries (JMoF)?

  • Japan's largest hotel-based furry convention and a globally recognised fixture of the Asian furcon calendar (Kemocon in Gotemba reports a higher cumulative daily total).
  • A center for Japanese fursuit design, featuring the Fursuit Creators' Competition.
  • Ocean's Furteen brought a casino-caper theme to the January 2026 weekend.
  • Loisir Hotel Toyohashi serves as the convention's long-standing venue.

How Do I Get to Japan Meeting of Furries?

JMoF's venue is changing for 2027. Here is how to reach both the current and future locations:

For 2027 (Aichi Sky Expo, Tokoname):

  • Chubu Centrair International Airport (NGO): The new venue, Aichi Sky Expo (Aichi International Exhibition Center), sits directly adjacent to Centrair airport in Tokoname. You can walk from the airport terminal to the convention centre, making this one of the most accessible venue-airport combinations of any furry convention worldwide.
  • From Tokyo: Take the Tokaido Shinkansen to Nagoya Station (about 1 hour 40 minutes), then transfer to the Meitetsu Tokoname Line or Meitetsu Airport Line to Chubu Centrair (about 30 minutes).
  • From Osaka/Kyoto: The Shinkansen reaches Nagoya from Shin-Osaka in about 50 minutes, then transfer to Meitetsu as above.
  • International Flights: Centrair (NGO) handles direct international flights from across Asia and select routes to the US and Europe. Narita (NRT) and Haneda (HND) in Tokyo also serve as international gateways with easy Shinkansen connections to Nagoya.

For 2026 and Earlier (Loisir Hotel Toyohashi):

  • From Nagoya: Take the JR Tokaido Main Line or Meitetsu Nagoya Line to Toyohashi Station (about 50 minutes by express). The Loisir Hotel is a short taxi ride from the station.
  • From Tokyo: The Tokaido Shinkansen Kodama or Hikari stops at Toyohashi Station (about 2 hours). Toyohashi is between Nagoya and Hamamatsu on the main line.

Where Should I Stay for Japan Meeting of Furries?

For 2027 (Aichi Sky Expo):

  • Centrair Area Hotels: Several hotels are located within the Centrair airport complex and the adjacent Tokoname area, including hotel chains within walking distance of the convention centre. This is the most convenient option.
  • Nagoya City: Staying in central Nagoya offers more dining and entertainment options, with a 30-minute Meitetsu train ride to Centrair.

For 2026 and Earlier (Toyohashi):

  • Loisir Hotel Toyohashi: The convention venue hotel is the standard choice, placing you at the centre of all programming. Room blocks for JMoF typically sell out well in advance.
  • Toyohashi Station Area: Budget hotels and business hotels near Toyohashi Station offer alternatives within a short taxi or bus ride.

Notes on Japan Meeting of Furries (JMoF)

3 quirks & policies that don't fit the highlights grid.

  • NIGHT FOX: ¥110,000, 50 seats, YouTube-streamed lottery

JMoF 2026's top patron tier, NIGHT FOX, costs ¥110,000 and is hard-capped at 50 seats allocated by lottery rather than first-come. Applicants first register and pay for a fallback tier (Member, Sponsor, or Super Sponsor). If the application window oversubscribes the cap, the lottery drawing is streamed live on the official JMoF YouTube channel, and winning applicants have the ¥77,000 delta (NIGHT FOX minus Super Sponsor) captured from a card pre-authorisation between September 21 and 22. Losing applicants keep their fallback tier and the auth releases.

  • Twelve years, one charity: ¥21M for Nonhoi Park

Every JMoF from 2015 onward has donated its charity raise to Nonhoi Park (豊橋総合動植物公園), Toyohashi''s municipal zoo. The 2026 raise of ¥5,229,650 was the strongest single year, and cumulative donations across thirteen documented editions exceed ¥21 million (roughly US$140,000). The zoo''s then-director, Saito Fujio (齋藤富士雄), is listed as a special guest on JMoF''s own history page for the 2015 and 2016 editions.

  • Live in Toyohashi plus VRChat and Resonite, every year since 2020

JMoF runs a parallel VR JMoF track on VRChat and Resonite simultaneous with the in-person event, every year since 2020 (Neos VR was a third platform in 2022-2023 before that service shut down). A separate VR JMoF Afterparty runs two to three weeks after the live convention.
