Furry Tea Party is an open-air furry festival held in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, using the public spaces around the Kaohsiung Public Main Library rather than an enclosed convention center. The 2026 "Hunter's Feast" edition expanded to three days, drew 1,013 registered attendees, and raised NTD 101,150 for the Taiwan Guide Dog Association. The event receives support from local government, with the Mayor of Kaohsiung appearing at past opening ceremonies.
Instead of using a convention center, Furry Tea Party utilizes the public spaces around the Kaohsiung Public Main Library. This creates a relaxed, photography-focused environment with good natural lighting. The event is integrated into the city to the point that attendees can ride the Kaohsiung Metro in full fursuit.
Organizers have announced "Taiwan Sunrise" as the spring 2027 edition, continuing the public-festival format at the Kaohsiung Public Main Library. Exact dates and the 2027 charity raffle beneficiary have not been confirmed yet. Furry Tea Party uses themed mascot characters (Nomu and Reim) rather than a traditional Guest of Honor. Watch furryteaparty.com for the registration window.
Drawing attendees from dozens of countries, Furry Tea Party is the only government-supported furry convention in Taiwan, with the Mayor of Kaohsiung appearing at past opening ceremonies.

3 quirks & policies that don't fit the highlights grid.
iPASS badge = working Taiwan transit & payment card
Pre-registered Licensed-Hunter badges and above are not con-branded NFC cards, they are real Taiwan iPASS contactless cards, the same chip Kaohsiung locals tap onto the MRT, buses, light rail, and convenience-store tills. Your con badge keeps working as a transit and payment card long after the weekend. Walk-in registrants explicitly get a "standard NFC" badge with the iPASS functionality removed, making the on-site upcharge a feature loss as well as a price bump. Master and Mythic tiers receive a "Special iPASS" with custom event artwork, and the Legendary tier's badge is a one-off YCH (your-character-here) chip drawn by an official con artist from the fursona reference you submit at registration.
Furry Yacht: official Kaohsiung Harbor charters
Furry Tea Party sanctions a paid yacht-charter track that runs all three con days from 09:00 to 17:00, departing from the TAi Urban Resort lobby out to Kaohsiung Harbor and the Sizihwan coast. Charters are NTD 40,000 to 70,000 for one to four hours, up to eighteen passengers per trip with professional TAi Urban Resort crew, fursuits welcome, and optional KTV / tea-and-snacks add-ons. Tier discounts come baked in: Master Hunters get 10% off, Legendary Hunters 20%, and the single Mythic Hunter 30%. A sanctioned harbor-yacht track as part of the official con schedule is unique in the dataset, most cons cap the "boat trip" at a one-off social meetup, not a published per-hour rate card with crew and insurance included.
Furries Banquet: 27F sky bar takeover, fursuiter bartenders
On the Sunday-night close (March 1, 2026, 18:00-23:00), the organizers privatise the entire 27th floor of the TAi Urban Resort BAR KAO, the hotel's harbour-view sky bar, for the Furries Banquet. Separate NTD 1,700 registration, 18+ only, with the con badge doubling as photo ID (using someone else's badge gets the offender added to a future entry-ban list). The night runs as an all-you-can-eat Thai buffet, a named "TailShake" cocktail menu mixed by eleven fursuiter bartenders, and two resident furry vocal performers. Private floor takeover of a real-world hotel sky bar with an in-fursuit bartender program is the structural distinctive, not "we have a bar at the dance," but "the 27th floor of the hotel is yours for the night, and the people behind the bar are wearing tails."
