Heartland Howloween is a Halloween-themed furry convention in Omaha, Nebraska, the city's first furry con when it debuted in 2025. It pairs a hotel-con format with a strong party-floor and rave identity, plus a notably local charity.
Heartland Howloween has not announced its 2027 dates or venue yet. In 2026 tickets were sold online only through the convention's registration site, with none for cash at the door, and pre-registration closed weeks ahead. Watch its Bluesky account and the official site for the announcement.
Heartland Howloween brings a Halloween-season party energy to the Midwest. Beyond the usual dealers and panels, its identity centers on a dedicated party floor and raves, drawing the furry/raver crossover crowd. The convention also stands out for its charity choice, supporting a local Indigenous youth fund rather than the more typical animal shelter. For furries across Nebraska and the surrounding plains, it's a young, fast-growing con with a festive autumn hook.

Higher tiers include the benefits of the tiers below them. Credit Cryptid adds the VIP lounge and Friday banquet. These were the 2026 tiers; the 2026 edition took place October 9-11. Unique Unicorn, Lavish Lycanthrope and Credit Cryptid were withdrawn at the end of pre-registration, on August 21, 2026.
Heartland Howloween's second edition ran October 9-11, 2026 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Omaha Downtown (1616 Dodge St) under the theme Full Moon Magic, with Dragon Roast Coffee as Guest of Honor. Badge tiers ran from $60 to a $1,000 sponsor tier, and the $300 Credit Cryptid tier with the VIP lounge and Friday banquet was withdrawn with two others when pre-registration closed on 21 August 2026. The charity was the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska's Youth Fund, with a fundraising goal of $5,000.
Heartland Howloween debuted October 10-12, 2025 at the Comfort Inn & Suites Omaha Central (7007 Grover St) as Omaha's first-ever furry convention, drawing 428 attendees according to the organizer's attendance announcement. The 2026 edition moved downtown to the DoubleTree by Hilton Omaha Downtown.
