The nearest airport is Erfurt-Weimar Airport (ERF), roughly 60 km north of Suhl, though it has limited scheduled service. Most attendees fly into Frankfurt Airport (FRA) or Leipzig/Halle Airport (LEJ) and travel onward. Suhl is reachable by regional train via Suhl station on the Erfurt-Würzburg line. From there, the Ringberg Hotel is perched on a hilltop above the city and is accessible by taxi or a convention shuttle. Drivers can reach Suhl via the A71 motorway from Erfurt or the A73 from Nuremberg.

EAST 14 occupied the entire Ringberg Hotel, a 460-guest hilltop property in the Thuringian Forest. For that edition, booking through the convention was the standard approach, as the hotel became the convention space for the weekend. The next edition's venue and hotel arrangements are not yet announced.

#GoPfandMe: 5 editions of bottle-deposit charity stats published
Germany''s Pfand (deposit-return) system places a €0.25 surcharge on plastic bottles and cans, refundable at any reverse-vending machine. EAST''s #GoPfandMe campaign asks attendees to donate their convention-weekend Pfand vouchers to the charity total, and publishes a 5-edition longitudinal stats table tracking the campaign''s growth:
Full 460-guest hilltop buyout, no overflow possible
EAST occupies the entire 460-guest Ringberg Hotel sitting atop a mountain in the Thuringian Forest, for the full weekend. With 1,076 attendees registered for 2026 against the room cap of 460, registration effectively sells out with the hotel block, there are no nearby overflow hotels because the venue is on an isolated hilltop, so the buyout doubles as the attendance cap.
EAST is one of four Sachsen Furs events per year
EAST is the flagship annual convention, but parent org Sachsen Furs e.V. runs four events per year with smaller regional meets between editions. The con is the once-a-year peak of a continuous regional-meet cadence rather than a standalone, most German cons sit as one-off annual events with no recurring infrastructure between editions.
