The nearest airport is Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), one of the busiest hubs in the US with nonstop flights from most major cities. Dallas Love Field (DAL) is another option for Southwest Airlines travelers. The Hyatt Regency Dallas is directly connected to Union Station via a pedestrian walkway, giving access to the DART light rail system and the Trinity Railway Express from Fort Worth. Drivers arriving via I-35E, I-30, or I-45 can reach the hotel in downtown Dallas near the Reunion Tower.

"Is it a Convention? Is it a Meet?" the relax-fest format
Furry Siesta is the only Texas furry con that openly refuses to call itself a convention. Creature Arts pitches it as "a light Convention or a furmeet with extra features."
Hot Swap Artists & Crafters: the free, rotating Artist Alley alternative
Almost every furry convention runs an Artist Alley with juried tables and per-day fees. Furry Siesta runs a Hot Swap room instead: artists sign up at the Vendor Hall Operations desk on a first-come-first-served basis, claim half of a 6′ × 2.5′ table, and clear out within 30 minutes when they leave so the next artist can rotate in. Cost: "No charge! Nothing! Nada! Zilch!"
Built to dodge a Dallas summer: the heat-refuge origin still shapes the program
Furry Siesta exists because Dallas summers regularly top 100°F and Creature Arts (then operating as DRAMA, the Dallas/Fort Worth Furry Association) needed a way to hold summer events without giving fursuiters heatstroke. The original solution was indoor, climate-controlled space at the Addison Crowne Plaza, funded by accumulated hotel credit from earlier DRAMA events.
