Furry Retreat is an 18+ furry campout held inside Robbers Cave State Park near Wilburton, Oklahoma. Running since 2015, it trades panels and dealer halls for a relaxed, community-run week in the woods where the attendees themselves make the schedule.
Furry Retreat returns October 28-November 2, 2026 at Robbers Cave State Park's Group Camp Two. Setup starts at 4pm on Wednesday the 28th, the event itself runs Thursday the 29th to Sunday the 1st, and you can stay a last night as long as you are packed up by 10am Monday. There's no fixed lineup by design, activities are hosted by campers on a shared board. Pre-registration is open at $40 for Camper or $60 for Happy Camper, both $10 more if you register on arrival, and it closes a week out on October 21. A day pass is $25 on site.
Furry Retreat is the opposite of a big convention. It's a small, self-organized campout where, as the organizers put it, "it takes a village", everyone brings food, shelter, and time, and the weekend's activities come from the attendees themselves. Set inside a scenic Oklahoma state park steeped in outlaw legend, it offers campfires, shared meals, and standing traditions like Fajita Friday and Board Game Nights. For 18+ furries who want nature, downtime, and a tight community over a packed program, it's a long-running, low-key escape.
The whole event, plus a bunk in one of the camp cabins or a place to pitch your own tent
Everything Camper gets, plus set-aside space in the event refrigerator and swag the organisers are still deciding on
Pre-registration for 2026 opened between the 2026-08-11 check and this one, and these are its prices. Both rungs cost 10 USD more at the door, so Camper is 50 and Happy Camper 70 if you register on arrival, and the organisers say Happy Camper swag may not be available to door registrations at all. Pre-registration closes one week before the event, on October 21, 2026, and pre-registrants who have not yet paid can pay at the door or through the PayPal link on the same page. The day pass is sold on site only. A badge covers your bed: there is no separate lodging charge because a cabin bunk or a tent spot comes with it, but no bedding is provided and no meals are, and running an extension cord to a tent or vehicle triggers the state park's own RV hookup fee.
By air: The nearest larger airports are Tulsa (TUL) and Fort Smith (FSM), with Oklahoma City (OKC) further out; Wilburton is in southeastern Oklahoma.
By car: Robbers Cave State Park is about five miles north of Wilburton on State Highway 2. A car is essential, and the event is built around camping on-site.
By transit: Public transit to the park is impractical; plan to drive or arrange a carpool through the convention's community channels.

Furry Retreat is a campout, and your badge covers your bed: a Camper registration includes a bunk in one of the camp cabins or a spot to pitch a tent, with park kitchen and dish facilities and on-site water. Bring your own bedding, because none is provided. There's no hotel block. Those who prefer a roof can look at park cabins or lodging in the Wilburton area, but the shared campground is the heart of the event.
