Expofur 2026 is scheduled for Feb 20-22, 2026 in Monterrey, Mexico. The announced theme is Más Allá Del Horizonte.
Expofur was a furry convention in Monterrey, Mexico, organized by the Furmania community in Nuevo León. It grew out of the group's monthly furmeets, held two themed editions in 2024 and 2025, and was cancelled for good two weeks before its planned 2026 edition.
Expofur held its first edition in May 2024, announced at the traveling "FurCan de viaje" event. Each edition carried a Spanish-language theme. The third, "Más Allá Del Horizonte" (Beyond the Horizon), was set for February 20-22, 2026 at Four Points by Sheraton Galerías Monterrey.
On February 6, 2026 the organizers posted an official statement on Instagram cancelling that edition and ending the Expofur project. They named problems in the event's management, limited support from the community, and a wave of refund requests set off by false news and rumours. Refunds were to be paid in stages over the following months: exhibitors first, then Early Bird buyers, then the first and second sale stages.
Expofur was a community-grown con: organized by local Monterrey furries rather than a commercial runner, it had the grassroots character of an event built up from regular furmeets. For furries in northeastern Mexico, it offered a regional gathering with a yearly theme and a hotel-based format, far from the larger conventions in Mexico City.
The 2025 edition used Hotel Monterrey Macroplaza in the city centre. The cancelled 2026 edition had moved to Four Points by Sheraton Galerías Monterrey on Avenida Insurgentes.
