This guide covers the back half of the 2026 convention calendar, from Furry Weekend Atlanta in May to Midwest FurFest in December. Dates, themes, venues and attendance come from each convention's own announcements, as recorded on our convention pages.
Most of the season has now run. Furry Weekend Atlanta, ConFuzzled, Furlandia, Furry Siesta, Anthrocon, Eurofurence 30, Megaplex, DenFur and StratosFur are all over, and their sections below give the attendance each one reported (or say that it has not been published). Furry Migration is under way this weekend (September 11-13), and Biggest Little Fur Con, Furpocalypse and Midwest FurFest are still to come.

May was the real start of convention season, with three major events inside three weeks and two of them on the same weekend.
Theme: Nowhere Inn Between | Venue: Marriott Marquis & Hyatt Regency, Atlanta, GA | 2026 Attendance: 17,301 | Charity: $150,000 to Lost-n-Found Youth
FWA is the con that never sleeps. The Marriott Marquis, with its 50-story open atrium that looks like the inside of a concrete ribcage, transformed into a multi-level party once again in May 2026. The "Nowhere Inn Between" theme leaned into the building's surreal, liminal-space architecture.
At 17,301 attendees, FWA 2026 came in just below 2025's 17,736 record but held its place among the three largest furry conventions on the planet. The Georgia Aquarium Takeover remained a signature draw, giving attendees private after-hours access to fursuit alongside whale sharks. Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson airport connects to everywhere, and the MARTA rail runs directly from baggage claim to the convention hotels.

Theme: The Musical | Venue: Hilton Birmingham Metropole, Birmingham, UK | 2026 Attendance: TBA (3,179 in 2025)
The UK's largest furry convention took the late-May bank holiday weekend with a theatrical theme, a good fit for a con known for polished mainstage productions. ConFuzzled has not yet published a 2026 attendance or charity total; we will add them when it does. Next year's convention is set for May 28 to June 1 under the theme "XXTREME Racing."

Theme: Wild Wild Furry West | Venue: Hyatt Regency Portland, Portland, OR | 2026 Attendance: 4,395 | Charity: $6,653 to The Pixie Project
Furlandia ran the same Memorial Day weekend as ConFuzzled, which mattered only to the small group who follow both. For most people the geography (England vs. Oregon) settled it.
Furlandia keeps growing: 2,060 attendees in 2024, 2,724 in 2025, and a record 4,395 in 2026 under the "Wild Wild Furry West" theme. Portland's food scene makes the city a draw beyond the convention itself.
Summer is when convention season hits full speed. The June-to-August stretch held the largest event of the year and one of the trickiest scheduling clashes on the calendar.
Theme: Critters, Cryptids & Curses | Venue: David L. Lawrence Convention Center, Pittsburgh, PA | 2026 Attendance: 20,618 | Charity: $86,000+ to J and J Farms Animal Sanctuary
Anthrocon drew 20,618 attendees in 2026, up from 18,357 in 2025, over the July 4th holiday weekend. The "Critters, Cryptids & Curses" folklore theme gave the parade plenty of material. The 2027 edition, themed "LEVEL 30: BEGIN," is set for July 1-4.
Pittsburgh goes all-in on Anthrocon. The city hangs banners, businesses put up welcome signs, and residents line the streets to watch the Fursuit Parade. The David L. Lawrence Convention Center hosts the Dealers Den, Main Stage, and Art Show, while the connected Westin handles overflow panels and is the social hub.
Hotel blocks are the challenge every year. Anthrocon releases rooms in waves for Ultrasponsors, Dealers, and General attendees starting in February. General blocks across the 20+ partner hotels typically sell out within minutes. If you missed the block, join the convention's Telegram or Discord for room-share coordination.
Getting there: Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) connects to downtown via the 28X Airport Flyer bus for under three dollars. If you are driving, downtown parking is limited, so plan for hotel valet or a park-and-ride lot. The convention also operates a shuttle network connecting overflow hotels to the David L. Lawrence entrance, which is a lifesaver if you end up booked at a property a few blocks out.

Eurofurence (August 19-23) and Megaplex (August 21-23) overlapped by three days in 2026. Both pull partly from the same international audience, so anyone who follows both circuits had to pick one.
Theme: Fantastic Furry Festival | Venue: CCH Congress Center Hamburg, Germany | 2026 Attendance: 9,139
Eurofurence turned 30 this year, making it one of the longest-running furry conventions anywhere. The anniversary did what people expected: attendance rose from 6,455 in 2025 to 9,139. The 2026 charity total has not been published yet.
Hamburg is easy to reach by air and rail. Fly into Hamburg Airport (HAM) or take the ICE high-speed train from anywhere in Germany or the neighboring countries. The CCH sits next to Planten un Blomen park, and partner hotels spread across Hamburg's U-Bahn network. EF returns to the CCH on August 18-22, 2027, with the theme "Midnight at the Lab." Theme: Furries, Uh, Find A Way | Venue: Hyatt Regency Orlando, FL | 2026 Attendance: 12,542 | Charity: $100,000 to the Florida Wildlife Federation
Megaplex crossed 10,000 attendees for the first time in 2025 (10,038) and grew again in 2026 to 12,542, despite the clash with Eurofurence. The Jurassic Park-flavored theme suited a hotel on International Drive, close enough to Disney and Universal that many people turn the weekend into a Florida vacation.
Megaplex is an 18+ convention with a strong focus on performance and charity fundraising: $90,600 for the Greater Orlando Pet Alliance in 2025, then $100,000 in 2026. The resort-style venue with outdoor pools gives it a different feel from the convention-center events.
Summer also brought Furry Siesta (June 19-21, Dallas, 2,880 attendees), StratosFur (Aug 27-30, Houston, 2,065) and DenFur (Aug 28-30, Denver, 6,239), all in the summary table below. Theme: Be Kind, Rewind | Venue: Hyatt Regency Minneapolis, MN | 2025 Attendance: 2,431
"Minnesota Nice" is a real thing, and Furry Migration is proof. This cozy, well-run convention at the Hyatt Regency on Nicollet Mall runs September 11-13 with "Be Kind, Rewind," a 90s VHS throwback theme. The September timing hits a sweet spot: past the summer heat, before the Minnesota winter, and in a gap between the major summer events and MFF.
At 2,431 attendees in 2025, FM is big enough to feel like a full convention but small enough that you will actually see the same faces twice. The downtown Hyatt location on Nicollet Mall means solid restaurant and nightlife options right outside the door. If this year's dates come too soon for you, the 2027 edition is set for September 10-12.
Theme: BLFC @ Sea! | Venue: Grand Sierra Resort & Casino, Reno, NV | 2025 Attendance: 3,755
BLFC is the resort con. The Grand Sierra Resort is a full entertainment complex with bowling, go-karts, escape rooms, an arcade, and a casino, all under one roof. You technically never have to step outside. The "BLFC @ Sea!" nautical theme should pair well with the resort-party energy.
A few things to know: BLFC's 2026 dates fall Monday through Thursday, which is unusual and means you may need extra time off work. The host venue, the Grand Sierra Resort, does not allow fursuit heads on the casino gaming floor, so the convention maps fursuit-safe corridors through the property. And the free airport shuttle from Reno-Tahoe International (RNO) means you can skip the rental car entirely.
Theme: Rock N' Roll Nightmare | Venue: DoubleTree by Hilton, Stamford, CT | 2025 Attendance: 3,150
If you want to spend Halloween in fursuit, Furpocalypse is the place. Running over the actual Halloween weekend, the convention blends horror aesthetics with the furry fandom. The 2026 "Rock N' Roll Nightmare" theme adds a heavy-metal edge. Expect creative costume mashups, trick-or-treating in suit, and a dark party atmosphere.
Furpocalypse drew 3,150 attendees in 2025, up from 2,845 in 2024, and raised $18,500 for Q Plus. The Stamford location puts it within reach of New York City and the broader Northeast corridor.
Theme: Bark to the Future | Venue: Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, Rosemont, IL | 2025 Attendance: 16,925
MFF closes the convention year the way it always does: at an enormous scale. One of the three biggest furry conventions in the world, alongside Anthrocon and Furry Weekend Atlanta, it fills the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center plus multiple hotel properties across Rosemont. "Bark to the Future" brings cinematic retro-future energy to what is already the fandom's most anticipated winter event.
The numbers speak for themselves: 16,925 attendees and $151,517 raised for charity in 2025. The Dealers Den is the largest in the fandom. The dances run multiple floors. The Fursuit Parade draws thousands of participants. If you attend one convention all year, many people would tell you to make it MFF.
The cold reality: Chicago in December is genuinely cold. Pack thermal layers, a heavy coat, and waterproof boots. Skybridges connect some hotels to the convention center, but outdoor transfers between properties are unavoidable. Fly into O'Hare (ORD) and take a hotel shuttle or the CTA Blue Line to Rosemont.
Hotel booking for MFF is the most competitive process in the fandom. Blocks sell out in minutes. The Hyatt Regency O'Hare is the primary "party" hotel, and a room there puts you at the center of the convention's nightlife. Convention center hotels connected via skybridges let you avoid outdoor transfers in winter weather. Set your alarms, join the official channels, and be ready the moment booking opens. View Full CalendarBiggest Little Fur Con (October 12-15, Reno) and Furpocalypse (October 29 to November 1, Stamford) are both good first conventions. They are large enough to offer a full convention experience with panels, a Dealers Den, dances, and a fursuit parade, but small enough that the crowds are not overwhelming. BLFC's resort format is especially beginner-friendly because everything is under one roof. If you want the full mega-con experience, Midwest FurFest in December is the last chance this year, and Anthrocon's city-wide welcome makes its 2027 edition less intimidating than its 20,000+ attendance might suggest.
The 2027 calendar collects them as conventions announce. A few are already set: Anthrocon on July 1-4, Eurofurence on August 18-22 and Furry Migration on September 10-12. Megaplex has not announced 2027 dates yet, so whether the August overlap repeats is still open.
As early as possible. Anthrocon and MFF hotel blocks sell out within minutes of opening. Join the convention's official Telegram, Discord, or mailing list and set alerts for the booking announcement. For mid-sized cons like BLFC and Furry Migration, you have a bit more breathing room, but booking within the first week of block availability is still smart. Out-of-block hotels near the venue are always an option but cost significantly more.
Yes. BLFC 2026 runs Monday through Thursday (October 12-15), which is unusual for a major convention. This means you will likely need to take time off work, but it also means fewer crowds and potentially lower travel costs compared to weekend events. Most other conventions on this list follow the standard Thursday-through-Sunday or Friday-through-Sunday format.
