From attendees
Alameda is an island city in the San Francisco Bay Area:
Curated stays near USS Hornet Aircraft Carrier, Alameda, United States.
The 2026 edition (May 29 to 31) filled the USS Hornet with 607 attendees, which the convention's closing post described as the maximum it was allowed, and raised over $25,000 for the USS Hornet Museum. Branded #FurryHardMode, it was the convention's first fully 18+ year, adding a Friday After Dark festival, private staterooms, and expanded below-deck programming. Closing ceremonies marked a handover of the con chair from Nacho to Dan.
The 2025 return to the USS Hornet saw 500 attendees gather on the historic aircraft carrier, raising $16,500 for SeaLife Response + Rehab + Research.

3 quirks & policies that don't fit the highlights grid.
Sleeping aboard the carrier that recovered Apollo 11
Attendees camp aboard the USS Hornet (CV-12), an Essex-class aircraft carrier and a National Historic Landmark. The National Park Service records that the ship's career "was capped with the recovery of the Apollo 11 and Apollo 12 astronauts at the end of these missions", with President Nixon welcoming the Apollo 11 crew back to Earth aboard the carrier.
California-legal cannabis is still banned on board
Galactic Camp's Code of Conduct explicitly bans marijuana at the convention and points at the ship's own house rules rather than California law: "Although recreational marijuana is legal in California, no marijuana products are permitted anywhere inside or outside the venue, including the parking lot, per Hornet policy." Whatever is legal ashore, the USS Hornet's policy is the one that governs the weekend.
18+ for 2026, with a Friday After Dark Festival
The convention went 18+ for the 2026 edition, "This year, we have decided to make Galactic Camp an 18+ con." The change unlocked a Friday After Dark Festival (8pm-2am) run as a strict no-photo, no-video block with a relaxed dress code, "so you can wear harnesses, leather, rubber/latex, ABDL outfits, pup hoods, etc."
