The 2025 edition drew 1,942 attendees and raised over $10,000 for charity, with programming that leans into LA's urban culture, including late-night events such as Night Markets and drag shows.
Based at the Hilton Los Angeles Airport (LAX), about half a mile from the international airport, the convention ran March 13-15, 2026 with its "Airplane!" theme. The 2026 edition drew 1,896 attendees and raised $6,205 for Wonky Hearts Animal Haven, with Guests of Honor Chompthreads and Scribbles Art Collective.
GSFC designs its programming to match its urban environment. Following previous iterations like "Urban LA" and "Back to the 80s," attendees can expect themed programming that draws on LA's talent pool, featuring performance art, dance competitions, and fursuit theatricals.
A notable part of GSFC's programming is its focus on nightlife. Recognizing that standard convention schedules do not always fit the LA setting, the convention runs late-night events like Night Markets and drag shows.

Floor Wars: a 16-bracket improv battle next to the choreographed Dance Comp
GSFC runs two parallel dance formats in 2026, an unusual depth at sub-2,000-attendee regional cons. The choreographed Dance Competition requires original choreography, paws + head minimum, solo capped at 2:00 and groups at 3:00, with judged prelims. Sitting beside it is Floor Wars, a 16-spot single-elimination improv bracket explicitly cross-linked from the Dance Comp page: "This contest is for choreographed dances. Want to do an improvised dance? Take a look at Floor Wars!"
Founded 2019 in Irvine, then transferred mid-2022 to the AnthroEvents 501(c)(3)
GSFC's lineage is split across two organisations. The first edition ran April 19-21, 2019 at the Hilton Irvine Orange County Airport Hotel under an original organising company with the "Roaring Twenties" theme, drawing 1,230 attendees and 232 fursuiters and donating $11,242 to canid conservation. After a COVID gap, mid-2022 the convention was formally transferred to Anthro Events Inc. (AEI), the same 501(c)(3) non-profit that runs DenFur, AquatiFur, Painted Desert Fur Con, Furpocalypse, and Furrydelphia on a shared `con-aeicon` WordPress multisite build.
Tier ladder cascade with rolling deadlines, single-day pricing by weekday
GSFC's 2026 tier ladder is structured as a calendar cascade rather than a flat list: Patron $350 closes January 30, Sponsor $250 closes February 13, Weekend pre-reg $90 closes February 27, and single-day badges open afterwards at $50 Sunday / $60 Friday / $70 Saturday. The single-day prices invert the usual flat-rate model, with Saturday priced highest because it is the main programming day. The Hilton LAX group block opened at $184/night (excluding 2.4% state + 14% occupancy tax) and closed February 19, 2026, falling between Sponsor and Weekend cutoffs.
