Did You Know?

  • *Born from someone asking at Furstivus why the city did not already have a furry event of its own
  • *Offers a 'noisy block' hotel room option for attendees who prefer a lively environment

Fur-the-More (FtM) is a Mid-Atlantic furry convention that launched in 2013 near Baltimore and later toured Virginia venues. The 2026 "Homecoming" edition brought the convention back to downtown Baltimore at the Lord Baltimore Hotel, drawing 1,917 attendees and raising more than $25,000 for The Frederick Center.

2027: Save the Date

The next Fur-the-More is confirmed for March 19-21, 2027 at the Lord Baltimore Hotel in downtown Baltimore. Theme, Guest of Honor, and the 2027 charity partner have not been announced yet. After 2026's "Homecoming" edition reunited the Mid-Atlantic furry community in Maryland, the 2027 weekend continues the convention's return to its Baltimore roots.

Smart & Engaging

Reflecting the demographic of the DC/Maryland/Virginia corridor, Fur-the-More offers STEM-focused programming. Alongside dances and charity drives ($25,000+ for The Frederick Center from 1,917 attendees in 2026), the convention features STEM panels, educational seminars, and themed escape rooms.

What Are the Highlights of Fur-the-More?

  • Baltimore Return: The convention returns to its Baltimore roots for 2026 after years at Virginia venues.
  • Homecoming Theme: A sentimental aesthetic honoring the convention's Maryland origins.
  • STEM Programming: Features STEM panels, educational spaces, and escape rooms alongside standard convention fare.
  • Charity Focus: Consistent fundraising for local LGBTQ+ charities, including $26,000 raised in 2025.

Three windows. The recorded figures are the ONLINE rates. An early-bird window covering the first 30 days of registration prices them at 70, 175, 450 and 1,200, but the page does not say when that window opened, so it cannot be dated here and the safer online rates are recorded instead - the 10 dollar saving above is the Attendee step, and the upper tiers save 50 and 300. At-door pricing exists only for the two lower tiers, 85 and 200; Sponsor and Raven God simply stop being sold. Sponsor and Raven God are the only tiers with meals, and Raven God includes two hotel nights, so the jump from 500 to 1,500 is largely lodging. Online registration also closes early if the attendance cap is reached. The Upgrades section still names an online deadline of 31 January 2026, a date that has passed and belongs to a previous edition; treat it as stale rather than as this year's cutoff. A portion of Backer and above may be tax-deductible.

How Do I Get to Fur-the-More?

Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI) is the primary airport, about 20 minutes south of the Lord Baltimore Hotel by car or rideshare. From BWI, take the Light RailLink to Camden Station, then walk 10 to 15 minutes north to the hotel. You can also board the free Charm City Circulator (Purple Route) from Penn Station to the Charles Center stop, a short walk from the venue.

For those arriving by train, Baltimore Penn Station serves Amtrak's Northeast Corridor and MARC commuter rail from Washington, DC. The hotel is accessible from Penn Station via the Circulator or a brief rideshare. Reagan National Airport (DCA) and Dulles International Airport (IAD) in the DC area are alternative options, with MARC trains or Amtrak connecting to Baltimore in about an hour.

Driving in? The Lord Baltimore Hotel is in downtown Baltimore near the Inner Harbor, accessible from I-95 and I-83.

Where Should I Stay for Fur-the-More?

The convention headquarters is the Lord Baltimore Hotel, a historic Art Deco property at 20 West Baltimore Street in downtown Baltimore. The hotel sits three blocks from the Baltimore Convention Center and the Inner Harbor. Room rates through major booking sites typically start around $94 per night, though convention block rates may vary. Check the Fur-the-More website for the official room block link and deadline. The convention also uses the Hotel Monaco as additional event space.

Parking in downtown Baltimore is available at nearby garages. The hotel itself offers valet parking.

Notes on Fur-the-More

3 quirks & policies that don't fit the highlights grid.

  • Two adjacent National-Register hotels run as the convention block

Fur the More 2026 splits across two co-equal hotels two downtown blocks apart, both on the National Register of Historic Places. The Lord Baltimore Hotel (20 W Baltimore St) is a 1928 French Renaissance landmark by William Lee Stoddart, 22 stories at 289 ft, NRHP #82001587, and a member of Historic Hotels of America, known for its grand-piano lobby, polished brass, and the immense Murano-glass chandelier under an award-winning vaulted-fresco ceiling.

  • A three-step parent-org migration ending in 501(c)(3) charity status

Fur the More publishes a richer parent-org lineage than most peer cons. March 2012: NorthEast Anthropomorphic Association (NEAA) backed the brand-new convention as the umbrella 501(c)(7) non-profit. 2015: when Fur the More moved to Tysons VA, NEAA "was unable to continue as our sponsor," so the chairs founded Mid-Atlantic Anthropomorphic Society, also a 501(c)(7).

  • Rangers, Chief of Rangers, and a two-tier minor-badge system

Most US cons call their enforcement arm Security (Anthrocon, MFF), Ops (FE), or Safety (TFF). Fur the More uses Rangers, with appeals escalated to the Chief of Rangers or an event chair for review, a vocabulary unique to MidAnthro events, written into the Code of Conduct''s age-appropriate-content section.
