Furry Cruise is a furry convention without a fixed venue: instead of a hotel or convention center, it sails on a Norwegian Cruise Line ship departing from Port Canaveral, Florida. It books as a group cabin block on a regular passenger cruise, so attendees enjoy furry meetups and socials at sea while the ship visits a different port each day.
The 8-day itinerary calls at Puerto Plata (Dominican Republic), St. Thomas (U.S. Virgin Islands), Tortola (British Virgin Islands), and Great Stirrup Cay, Norwegian's private island in the Bahamas. Cabins start around $1,222 per person for an inside stateroom and $1,510 for a balcony, with a $250-per-person deposit to hold a spot.

Prices are fixed group rates per person for two sharing a cabin on Norwegian Prima's October 2026 Eastern Caribbean sailing. Solo travellers pay for two; roommate matching is unavailable. Rates include taxes and fees but exclude promotional surcharges, and other fares may be cheaper. A USD 250 deposit per person is due at booking; the balance was due June 13, 2026. Check in online September 20-October 16 and board at Port Canaveral before 14:00 on October 18. Club Balcony Suite, Haven, mini-suite, triple and quad cabins require a phone quote. Cabin bookings require age 21; the recommended attendee age is 18. Indicative September 2027 Alaska fares were USD 1,279 inside, USD 1,639 oceanview and USD 2,179 balcony on January 10, 2026; these may change. For the Alaska sailing, deposits are refundable and final payment is due May 15, 2027.
By air: Orlando International Airport (MCO) is about 45-60 minutes from Port Canaveral and is the most common arrival airport; Orlando Melbourne (MLB) is a smaller, closer alternative.
By car: Port Canaveral is on Florida's Space Coast, east of Orlando via the 528 (Beachline Expressway). The cruise terminal complex sits along Charles M. Rowland Drive, with paid port parking available.
By transit: Shuttle and car services run between Orlando-area airports and Port Canaveral; many cruisers pre-book a transfer. Plan to arrive at the terminal well before the ship's afternoon departure.

A year-by-year record of this convention
Furry Cruise has sailed nearly every year since 2005 and keeps its own edition history, listing the departure port, the ship, the ports of call and the headcount for each one. The early years were small, on Royal Caribbean ships out of Florida through 2012 and Norwegian ones after that; the trip has also left from Tampa, Boston, New York, Los Angeles and Seattle. The 2007 sailing was annulled, and 2020 was cancelled outright for COVID-19 with nobody aboard.

The 2025 cruise sailed October 3-10 out of Boston aboard Norwegian Gem with 38 attendees, calling at Bar Harbor, Halifax, Sydney on Cape Breton Island, Charlottetown, La Baie on the Saguenay River, and Quebec City. It was the second cold-water itinerary the event has run, after the 2022 Alaskan sailing out of Seattle, and the first on the Atlantic side.
The largest edition so far: 58 attendees sailed October 26 to November 2, 2024 from Miami on Norwegian Joy, stopping in the Bay Islands of Honduras, Harvest Caye in Belize, Costa Maya and Cozumel.
51 attendees sailed November 5-12, 2023 from Los Angeles aboard Norwegian Bliss, calling at Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, Cabo San Lucas and Ensenada.
The event's first Alaskan sailing, October 16-23, 2022 out of Seattle on Norwegian Encore, drew 56 attendees, more than half again the largest pre-2020 edition and still the biggest sailing the event has run: its own history page gives 35 for 2019 and 33 for 2018. Ports were Juneau, Icy Strait Point, Glacier Bay, Ketchikan and Victoria, British Columbia.

The organizers' own edition history lists this year as annulled. It gives no reason, and inventing one would be worse than recording that they did not say.
