Furality Online Xperience (F.O.X.) is the largest furry convention by attendance, drawing a record 27,943 participants at its 2026 "Ultra" edition. Hosted entirely within VRChat, the event raised $116,121 for Resilient Hearts Animal Sanctuary that year. It is built and operated by a volunteer team of over 200.

Virtual Scale

Drawing 27,000+ attendees globally, the convention relies on custom digital architecture. Built by a volunteer team of over 200, Furality creates custom VRChat worlds that serve as dealer's dens, panel rooms, and meetup zones.

A central feature is Club F.Y.N.N., a 24/7 virtual nightclub with live DJs streaming to crowds of fully expressive 3D avatars.

Next Furality: To Be Announced

Furality has not yet announced its next Online Xperience edition. Its most recent event, "Ultra," wrapped on June 7, 2026 as the largest furry gathering in any format to date. Registration is closed, and the official site directs fans to await an announcement for the next convention's name, theme, and dates. Furality's flagship weekend has historically fallen in early June, but no 2027 date is confirmed. Watch the official Furality site or its socials for the reveal, and read on for what Ultra and past editions looked like.

What Are the Highlights of Furality Online?

How Do I Get to Furality?

Furality runs entirely in VRChat, so there is no physical travel involved. You attend from home (or anywhere with a stable internet connection). Here is what you need:

  • PCVR (Best Experience): A Windows PC with a VR headset (Meta Quest via Link cable or Air Link, Valve Index, HTC Vive, or similar). VRChat recommends at minimum an NVIDIA GTX 1060 or equivalent, 8 GB RAM, and Windows 10. A wired ethernet connection is strongly recommended for stability during DJ sets and crowded instances.
  • Standalone VR: A Meta Quest 2, Quest 3, or Quest Pro can run VRChat natively without a PC. Performance is more limited than PCVR, and some avatar features may be reduced, but the core convention experience is fully accessible.
  • Desktop Mode (No Headset): VRChat supports a flat-screen desktop mode on any Windows PC that meets minimum specs. You control your avatar with keyboard and mouse. This is the lowest barrier to entry and works well for panels and socializing.
  • VRChat Account: Create an account at VRChat.com (not through Steam) to get the most out of the event. A VRChat account enables friend lists, avatar uploads, and full access to Furality's worlds.

To participate, register on the Furality website for the event. Registration grants access to the F.O.X. Portal, a web tool that lets you navigate and join hundreds of dedicated convention instances inside VRChat, either solo or with friends. Convention worlds open when the event begins on June 4.

Furality Ultra is paid-only at the base General Pass ($35), with Buddy Pass $65 (includes a voucher for a friend), First Class $100, Sponsor $270, and a limited Game Changer tier at $1,200. A $100 Party Host Add-on lets one attendee create a private 30-person VRChat instance of any Ultra world. New for 2026: all attendees must complete free 18+ age verification through VRChat's native flow or Yoti by June 4, 2026. A hardship voucher program waives the entry fee for those who can't pay. New to VRChat? The convention hosts New Player Events before the main event to help newcomers learn the controls and set up their avatars.

Where Should I Stay for Furality?

Furality is a virtual convention, so your "venue" is wherever you set up your VR space or desktop. A few tips for the best experience:

  • Dedicated Play Space: If using a VR headset, clear a play area of at least 2m x 2m for room-scale movement. Standing or seated play also works.
  • Comfort Setup: Convention weekends are long. Have a comfortable chair for desktop sessions, keep water nearby, and take regular breaks from the headset.
  • Stable Internet: A wired ethernet connection makes a noticeable difference during crowded dance events and dealer den instances. Aim for at least 20 Mbps download.

Past Years

2026: Ultra

Furality Ultra ran June 4-7, 2026 and became the largest furry gathering in any format to date, with 27,943 attendees filling its neon-lit VRChat worlds and beating the 2025 Somna record by 1,538. The weekend raised $116,121 for Resilient Hearts Animal Sanctuary, an LGBTQIA+-led animal rescue based in Seattle, and did so despite a new mandatory (and free) 18+ age-verification requirement that some had worried would suppress turnout. The closing ceremony and charity auction ran on June 7. Ultra also drew an unexpected guest: on closing day the official @telegram account live-tweeted from inside the convention and posted a screenshot from Club F.Y.N.N., which we covered in our Telegram-at-Furality writeup.

2025: Somna

Furality Somna 2025 set the all-time attendance record at 26,405 participants, making it the most-attended furry convention of any format. The event raised $109,000 for The Center Orlando over the June 5-8 weekend, featuring five custom-built VRChat worlds and round-the-clock programming at Club F.Y.N.N.

2024: Umbra

Furality Umbra drew 21,004 attendees to its desert-exoplanet solstice celebration over June 6-9, 2024, and raised $47,000 for The Center Orlando. It was the first Furality to cross 20,000 attendees, confirming the event as the largest furry convention of any format.

2023: Sylva

Furality Sylva welcomed 15,160 attendees to a world of treehouse villages and cliff-side springs over June 2-4, 2023, raising $17,811 for Equality Florida Institute.

2022: Aqua

Furality Aqua brought 15,079 attendees into bioluminescent underwater worlds over June 17-19, 2022, raising $22,638 for SaveAFox Rescue.

Notes on Furality Online

3 quirks & policies that don't fit the highlights grid.

  • Five bespoke VRChat worlds, built and retired each year

Since Furality Luma in 2021, every main Furality edition has shipped five custom VRChat worlds built by an in-house creative team specifically for that convention: a dealer's den, a meetup space, a lobby/atrium, a panel world, and Club F.Y.N.N.

  • Club F.Y.N.N., the all-weekend virtual nightclub

The fifth world built every year is Club F.Y.N.N., a virtual nightclub that runs continuously across the convention weekend with rotating live DJ sets, VJs, and lighting design. The team page lists more than fifty named roles inside the Club Department alone: DJ Team, Visual Jockeys, Lighting Technicians, Stream Camera Operators, A/V Producers.

  • Furality, Inc.: a Florida 501(c)(3) born mid-2020

Furality, Inc. is the Florida-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that operates the convention. It was incorporated between the inaugural May 2020 F.O.X. event and Furality 2000 in November 2020; the about page calls Furality 2000 "the first event operated by the newly formed Furality, Inc."
