Ainmhícon (pronounced "An-Vee-Con") is making history as Ireland's very first major, dedicated furry convention! For years, Irish furs have had to travel to the UK or the mainland for large-scale events, but all of that changes when the fandom takes over Dublin!
Scheduled for April 11-12, 2026, the convention will be held at the modern Clayton Hotel Liffey Valley. The buzz around this event has been incredible--originally planned for 2027, demand was so high that organizers triumphantly pushed the timeline forward by a full year!
The convention leans deeply into Irish culture and heritage. The name itself is a brilliant portmanteau of "ainmhí" (the Irish word for "animal") and "con." Even the official mascots--two mischievous Púcas named Craic and Ceol--are a nod to the famous Irish phrase "craic agus ceol" (fun and music), promising an insanely lively, high-spirited atmosphere.
Aimed at establishing a distinct local furry identity separate from the broader UK scene, Ainmhícon isn't just for locals. Dublin Airport (DUB) offers massive international connectivity, and ferry services from Holyhead and Liverpool make it an easy, exciting destination for the broader European fandom.
