Quick Facts 2026

When

Where
Cork, Ireland
Theme
To Be Announced
Status
Confirmed

AnthroIrish (AI) is the clearest standalone furry convention in Cork, Ireland, and it matters because it gave the Irish fandom a dedicated convention instead of forcing every larger trip overseas. Its scale is still compact, but the community identity is strong and the early growth signals are good.

2026: AnthroIrish Returns

The current project transcript lists August 1-2, 2026 for AnthroIrish's next edition. The official link hub is active, but the browsed snapshot did not reveal a full 2026 venue page yet, so this page keeps the venue as TBA until the organizers publish the next hotel confirmation.

AnthroIrish is a different type of target from the giant European conventions. It is important because it is local, culturally specific, and still early enough in its life cycle that each successful year materially changes its visibility. If you want a smaller convention with a distinct regional identity, this is one of the best coverage gaps to fill.

Getting There

  • Flying: Cork Airport (ORK) is the natural first option for most attendees headed into southern Ireland.
  • Rail and coach: Cork is well connected to the rest of Ireland by train and intercity coach, which matters for attendees coming from Dublin or other population centers.
  • Walkable city core: If AnthroIrish returns to a central Cork hotel, much of the weekend can usually be handled on foot or with short taxi rides.

Accommodation

  • Recent base: The first two editions used the Clayton Hotel Cork City, giving the con a recognizable city-hotel format.
  • Budget options: Cork offers a better spread of guesthouses and smaller hotels than many rural con venues.
  • Watch official announcements: Because the 2026 venue was not visible in the browsed snapshot, attendees should follow the official link hub before booking.
