Waiting list
REGISTRATION IS CLOSED and several room types were on a waiting list even before that. This convention prices by ROOM TYPE rather than by perk tier: every rate above is per person and already includes the attendance fee for Friday 18 to Monday 21 September, so the 110 non-residential rate is the only badge-only option. Arriving a day early or leaving a day late costs 75, 92, 92 or 135 per person per night depending on room type. Strictly 18+ on the first day. Accepted registrations have 14 days to pay.
Reaching a 14th-century castle requires slightly different logistics than a city-center hotel:

Sleeping in the castle: Castle Classic vs Courtyard Classic rooms
Wild North is one of the very few furry conventions where the attendee tier ladder is also a room-allocation ladder inside a medieval fortress. Lumley Castle Hotel offers two distinct room blocks, Castle Classic Double rooms inside the historic 14th-century keep (the prized inventory) and Courtyard Classic Double rooms in the modern adjunct wing, and registration explicitly pairs you with a room partner via a "sharing group" on the reg system.
Conbook open-call: bind your art or writing into the printed book by 30 June
Wild North runs an annual attendee-contributed conbook rather than a staff-produced program guide. Anyone registered can email stories, poems, songs, paintings, or illustrations to [email protected] by 30 June and have their work bound into the printed book for that year's edition. Mascot Twizell anchors the theme brief, the 2026 Age of Heroes run frames Twizell-and-friends as the recurring cast attendees write into. It folds the program guide and the art zine into one artifact, distinctive against the badge-pack + printed-schedule norm at peer UK cons.
Bluesky-and-Telegram-first comms, no /news page on the main site
Wild North runs no /news/ page on wildnorth.uk at all. Canonical announcements flow exclusively through @wildnorth.bsky.social and the @WildNorthComms Telegram channel, with separate on-topic and off-topic Telegram groups to keep signal clean. If you only watch the website you will miss dates and ticket drops entirely. Registration lives on its own portal at reg.wildnorth.uk, which handles the "sharing group" room-partner mechanic, the one-day "Trading Post" dealers' track is applied for via the same reg portal rather than a separate vendor form.
