Frosty Fur Fest is Louisiana's first furry convention, founded in Baton Rouge in 2026. After a successful inaugural edition that drew 515 attendees and raised $1,800 for Baton Rouge Pride, the second edition moves to the Baton Rouge Marriott on January 29-31, 2027.
The 2027 edition runs January 29-31 at the Baton Rouge Marriott, a new home for the convention after its debut at the Crowne Plaza in 2026. Theme, guests of honor, and charity for 2027 are not yet announced.
The convention is guided by its alligator mascot, Poncho, and is led by Louisiana-based organizers building a regional anchor convention for the deep South.
Frosty Fur Fest's inaugural 2026 partnership with Baton Rouge Pride raised $1,800 for the organization, setting a community-focused tone the convention plans to continue.

Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport (BTR) is the closest airport, located about 15 minutes north of the Crowne Plaza Executive Center on Constitution Avenue. BTR serves flights from several major hubs including Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, and Charlotte. For more flight options, Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) is roughly 80 miles southeast, about a 75-minute drive on I-10.
The venue at 4728 Constitution Avenue is easily accessible from I-10 and I-12, the two major interstates that run through Baton Rouge. Rideshare services (Uber and Lyft) operate throughout the metro area.

The 2027 edition is hosted at the Baton Rouge Marriott, replacing the 2026 venue (Crowne Plaza Executive Center). Check the Frosty Fur Fest website for any convention room block codes and rates. The Crowne Plaza Executive Center hosted the 2026 debut with a 4,000 sq ft main ballroom rated for 300-400 attendees plus 1,200 sq ft breakout rooms; the 2027 Marriott venue scales the event up to accommodate continued growth past the inaugural 515-attendee mark.

A Zero Substance Policy that bans alcohol too
Frosty's event policies bind every attendee to a Zero Substance Policy, and it covers alcohol as well as drugs: "The possession, use, or distribution of illegal drugs, controlled substances, or alcohol in Convention spaces is strictly prohibited without exception." Convention space runs dry, so the drinking happens outside it rather than at a con bar.
Mardi Gras-style outdoor Fursuit Parade with bead throws
Frosty Fur Fest's Fursuit Parade is the explicit cultural anchor, a Louisiana convention literally calling its parade "Mardi Gras Style" with attendee-thrown beads. From the official event-signup page: "Interested in walking in our Mardi Gras Style Fursuit Parade? The parade (weather permitting) will be OUTDOORS. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE PREPARED AND TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF BY STAYING HYDRATED. Throws are recommended but not required. If you need beads to throw, some will be available (supplies may last)."
Two-person directorship under "Louisiana Furry Convention"
Frosty trades as "Frosty Fur Fest by Louisiana Furry Convention", and its Meet the Crew page puts the whole convention under a two-person directorship: Thor (Co-Owner; CEO, CFO and Chief Security Officer) and Sandy (Co-Owner; COO, CHRO and CMO). Every other department, creativity, logistics, media, registration, safety, IT and HR, reports into those two.
