FurTal

FurTal is a one-day furry convention in Fortaleza, Brazil, serving the furry community of Ceará and the country's northeast. A regional gathering distinct from the larger Brasil FurFest, it has run a themed edition each year since its debut, each built around its own named storyline and conbook.

2027: Furtal Arcana

The organizers have named the next edition Furtal Arcana, teased on their Bluesky in August 2026 with "As cartas já foram lançadas" (the cards have been dealt). They have not yet announced its date, venue or prices. FurTal has run on the first Saturday of July each year so far and changes venue from edition to edition, so wait for the official announcement before you book travel. Follow the official site and the @FurtalFortaleza channels for the next reveal, and see the recaps below for how past editions have run.

Why Attend?

FurTal gives northeastern Brazil its own furry day out, rather than asking attendees to travel to the bigger southern cons. It leans into storytelling: each year carries a named theme and an illustrated conbook, giving the event a distinct identity edition to edition. Its debut took the unusual step of meeting outdoors in a city nature park, framing the gathering around the community and the open air. For furries in Ceará and the surrounding region, it's a welcoming, locally rooted way to spend a day among the fandom.

What Are the Highlights of FurTal?

• Themed Edition: A new named storyline and illustrated conbook each year, most recently "A Guerra dos Reinos."
• Regional Gathering: A dedicated furry day for Fortaleza and the wider Ceará community.
• Community Focus: A compact, single-day program centered on bringing local furries together.

How Do I Get to FurTal?

By air: Fortaleza is served by Pinto Martins-Fortaleza International Airport (FOR), with domestic and some international connections.

By transit: Fortaleza has city bus routes and a metro system serving the main districts; the 2026 edition met at Espaço Caras in the Serrinha district, near the UECE campus. Specific stops depend on each edition's venue, which the organizers confirm ahead of the date.

By car: Fortaleza is reachable along Brazil's northeastern coastal highways. Plan local transport once the venue for your edition is announced.

Where Should I Stay for FurTal?

FurTal is a single-day event, so there is no official convention hotel. Visitors typically base themselves in central Fortaleza or near the beachfront, both well connected to the rest of the city. Confirm the venue first, then choose lodging with easy transit or driving access to it.
