Furtopia began as a 64-attendee gathering in 2018 in Bogota, which remains the sole attendance figure Furry Colombia has published for the event. The community's steady expansion under the Furry Colombia banner set the stage for its 2026 Moonfest iteration, which moved the event to Paipa, Boyaca.

Moonfest 2026: no room, no entry, a hotel-gated ticket model
Most furry cons sell a tier ladder where lodging is optional. Moonfest 2026 inverts the model: by the hotel's own rule, "solo pueden ingresar quienes estén alojados" (only registered hotel guests may enter). There is no day pass and no walk-in tier published, and there is no plan to sell one.

Rooms at Hotel Estelar Paipa are sold flat per room (1-4 occupants, splittable) and bookable only via Synxis group code 2607VENTAS, even calling the hotel directly is refused for Moonfest dates. Cards are authorised at booking but not actually charged until T-48 hours before the event (8 July 2026); free cancellation closes at the same T-48h moment.
Three event formats under Furry Colombia: Furtopia, SunFest, MoonFest
The Furry Colombia umbrella runs three differentiated formats: the original Furtopia (Bogotá, 2018 inaugural at 64 attendees), the lowland warm-weather SunFest, and Paipa's cold-climate MoonFest with on-site thermal baths. Moonfest is deliberately staged in the highlands for a slower-paced experience opposite SunFest, with the brand split functioning as climate-and-vibe segmentation across editions.
