Furry Takeover (FTO) quite literally lives up to its name! Offering an unforgettably unique "camping convention" experience, this rapidly growing gathering completely takes over the beautiful Fontana Village Resort & Marina in Fontana Dam, North Carolina.
Instead of standard, crowded hotel hallways, FTO embraces the great outdoors! Attendees book rustic cabins, lodges, and campsites nestled deep within the gorgeous Great Smoky Mountains. This creates an unbelievably immersive, village-wide atmosphere where furries effectively become the dominant local population for the weekend, swapping elevator rides for bonfires, minigolf, and epic outdoor movie nights!
Following historic, record-shattering growth in 2025, FTO will return on September 25-27, 2026 with its wildly fun "Space Cadets" theme! Despite its camping focus, the organizers brilliantly integrate all the traditional furry programming you love--from a vibrant Dealer's Den and Artist Alley to high-energy dance competitions--directly into the village setting.
