New Year's Furry Festival (NYFF) is a 21+ furry celebration held in Atlanta, Georgia, presented by Furry Weekend Atlanta. The inaugural edition runs December 30, 2026 through January 1, 2027 at the Courtland Grand Hotel.
NYFF is FWA's first brand-extension event - a party-first weekend built around a main stage and live entertainment rather than a traditional multi-track convention. The official site describes it as "a high-energy space for those who want to spend their New Year's celebrating with the furry community."
The first New Year's Furry Festival is scheduled for Wednesday, December 30, 2026 through Friday, January 1, 2027 at the Courtland Grand Hotel in downtown Atlanta. The event is 21+ only - the first adults-only convention from the FWA organization.
Registration is open as of September 30, 2026, with two tiers: Standard at $75 and Rockstar at $125 (the support tier, with a special gift and more perks to be announced). Attendance is limited: the official site warns "once we sell out, that's it," but gives no numeric capacity. The Courtland Grand lists a Standard block at $169 per night and a Social block at $185 per night, both plus taxes and fees. The Social block has courtyard rooms that open onto the pool. Theme, guests of honor, and a charity partner have not been announced.
NYFF fills a gap that no major North American furry convention currently covers: a hotel-based New Year's Eve celebration aimed at adult attendees. Most existing winter cons (FurDU, JMoF, Anthro Northwest) happen earlier in the season; NYFF is positioned as a destination party for furs who want to ring in the new year with the community without flying internationally.
Because the event is built around a main stage rather than a parallel-tracks schedule, expect a music- and performance-heavy weekend closer in spirit to a furdance weekender than to a traditional convention.

Heated covered pool in December, with poolside DJs
The Courtland Grand's covered pool is heated and runs 10 AM to 10 PM all three days, with DJs spinning poolside. NYFF pitches the pool party as a headline programming block rather than a side amenity, which is an unusual anchor for a convention held in late December.
FWA brand extension under the same 501(c)(3) umbrella
NYFF is not a separate organization, it is an official Furry Weekend Atlanta event running under the same 501(c)(3) non-profit umbrella as the parent convention, announced at FWA 2026 closing ceremonies. That structural detail matters: most "spin-off" furcons are launched by alumni who go independent, but NYFF stays inside FWA's legal and operational shell. Practically, it means the same finance, insurance, and CoC infrastructure backs the inaugural year, and the 21+ format is a deliberate diversification of FWA's all-ages spring weekend (~17,300 attendees in 2026) rather than a competing brand.
