LondonFurs Summer Weekender is the summer flagship from the larger LondonFurs community in London, England. It is shorter and looser than a hotel convention, but it is more organized and more branded than a casual city meetup.
Current community-calendar research points to July 17-18, 2026 for the next Summer Weekender. The specific event page is not live yet, but the series has enough history to justify adding it now. Public listings trace it back to 2019, and the LondonFurs brand behind it is strong enough that the event has its own recognisable place on the UK calendar.
What makes the Summer Weekender stand out is that it feels very London. The 2025 edition leaned into a Bardcore theme with boating, dancing, and a split venue setup rather than a single hotel takeover. That gives it a different personality from the UK's larger hotel conventions. If you want a smaller, social, city-based furry weekend without the overhead of a full convention stay, this is exactly that lane.
London is served by multiple international airports, with Heathrow (LHR) being the largest and most connected. The city's Underground, bus, and rail networks make reaching central London venues straightforward from any airport. Past editions have used venues in the City of London area, which is well served by multiple Tube lines and bus routes.

Central London has a wide range of hotels, hostels, and serviced apartments at every budget level. Staying near the City of London or along major Tube lines gives the best access to the event venues. Since the Weekender is only two days, many local attendees travel in from home, but out-of-town visitors will find no shortage of accommodation options.

Two-venue weekender: Thames boat Friday, Square Mile pub Saturday
LFSW is one of the few furry events whose flagship night runs on the water. Friday's Boat Party boards MV Jewel of London at Blackfriars Pier between 6:15pm and 7:00pm and returns by 11:00pm, four hours of DJ sets crossing under the Thames bridges at sunset. Saturday hops to Tank & Paddle Minster Court (3 Mincing Lane, EC3R 7AA, City of London), a pub venue near Bank, Monument, Tower Hill and Fenchurch Street, with a 0.6-mile fursuit walk to a nearby park and back midway through the day. Most peer cons keep all programming inside a single hotel-ballroom footprint; LFSW splits a Thames cruiser, a public-street walk and a Square Mile pub into one weekend.
Free mandatory ticketing + on-door security after April 2025 incident
Free entry, but a ticket is now compulsory for every LondonFurs event. The trigger, in LondonFurs' own words, was that "a number of incidents took place at our April 2025 meet, which caused the local authorities to be called twice", after which the venue and the authorities "wanted changes to the admissions process". The resulting stack: free tickets via Ticket Tailor (one per person, no booking for friends), wristbands for re-entry, and increased on-door security. Alcohol is the sharpest rule: "No alcohol will be permitted past the ramp or gates, within a 20-metre radius. Drinking alcohol outside the venue area is strictly prohibited, and anyone caught doing so will be banned from future events." Combined with the insurer-driven 18+ raise announced the same year (mixed-age safeguarding regulations at large-capacity events), LondonFurs effectively rebuilt its admissions stack in 2025.
Capped fursuit-bag tickets as a separate paid sub-tier
LFSW publishes a separate fursuit-bag ticket batch: one per person, one bag, capped, released alongside the boat tickets (Friday batch) and Saturday tickets (Saturday batch). A Friday bag ticket also covers Saturday, so suiters attending both days only need one. Walking in already in-suit from a nearby hotel doesn't need a bag ticket; carrying just a head in a shoulder bag doesn't either; only a full fursuit case does. The mechanic exists because Tank & Paddle's interior and the Jewel of London's deck space have hard physical limits on case storage, so the capped + cross-day-bundled bag ticket is a registration-level expression of a real physical constraint, not a policy preference.
