UFurryA

UFurryA is a furry camping weekend on a field just outside the hamlet of Weltenschwann near Calw in the northern Black Forest. It is run by Südstaaten Furs e.V., the southern German furry club behind the Sudstaaten Furdance. The organizers call it a camping convention: campers bring their own tents or camper vans, and the club builds everything else on site, from a heated pool to a field kitchen.

The camp is 18+, and the 2026 edition was capped at 50 to 60 people. The organizers billed the 2023 camp as its tenth, and the 2023 page named German as the event language.

What to Expect

The site has a barn but no power, running water, sewage or toilets, so the team brings in all of it. In 2026 that meant a heated, self-built pool, a field kitchen, a warm shower with biodegradable shower gel, lit portable toilets with wash stations, solar power, beer benches and a lit communal tent. The organizers still suggest packing a camping chair.

The 2026 page promised night-time swims in the heated pool, breakfast, dinner and assorted snacks, and an outdoor cinema when the weather allows. Campers organize most of the outings themselves, such as a visit to Burg Zavelstein or a trip to a sauna. There is a fire pit when conditions allow, but the organizers say recent summers were often too dry because of the forest fire warning level.

The ticket covers food, soft drinks and a share of the infrastructure costs. Alcohol is not included, and you are responsible for your own. Private drinks cannot be stored for cooling, and a cool box is on the official packing list. If you have dietary needs, note them in the remarks field when you register; the organizers try to cater for them, although the 2023 page warned that the field kitchen could not offer vegan meals.

Quiet hours start at 22:00, smoking is only allowed away from the communal areas, and you may not light fires of any kind yourself. Fetish clothing, real-fur fursuits and taxidermy are unwelcome, and weapons are banned. Drones are allowed within the law, as long as they keep their distance from people and tents and fly at least about 5 meters above the ground. Water and power are limited: the organizers ask you to keep showers short and not to unplug someone else's device from the charging station before it is above 80 percent. Take your deposit bottles, gas bottles and other rubbish home with you.

The organizers rely on volunteers during the weekend for washing up, frying meat, chopping vegetables, changing bin bags and refilling the wash stations, and you can sign up as a helper when you register.

How to Get Tickets

Registration runs through the Südstaaten Furs website, with one page per year. From 2023 to 2026 registration opened between late April and early July and closed about one to two weeks before the camp. The 2026 price was 65 EUR. An early-bird arrival a day before the start cost 10 EUR extra, and early arrivals may be asked to help set up. The 2027 dates and price have not been announced yet. In past years the club also announced UFurryA registration on its Telegram channel.

You must be 18 by the first day of the camp, and the team checks photo ID at arrival. Badges must be worn visibly all weekend.

How to Get There

Since 2025 the published address has been Breitenäcker 2, 75365 Calw, just outside Weltenschwann; the 2024 page gave Rötelbachstraße 61 in the same hamlet. The 2026 page says arrival time is flexible, with early afternoon around 13:00 as the ideal. You need a tent, a camper van or caravan, or a car to sleep in, plus a sleeping mat and sleeping bag. The official packing list also includes a rain jacket, swimwear, a towel, insect repellent, earplugs, a torch and a power bank.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I come to UFurryA if I am under 18?

No. The house rules require every participant to be 18 by the first day of the camp, and ID is checked on arrival.

Do I need to bring my own tent?

Yes. UFurryA provides the pool, kitchen, shower, toilets and communal tent, but you sleep in your own tent, camper van, caravan or car.

Are meals included in the price?

Yes. The ticket includes food and soft drinks from the field kitchen, which in 2026 meant breakfast, dinner and snacks. Alcohol is not included.

When is the next UFurryA?

The 2027 camp has not been announced yet. Every camp since 2022 has run in August or early September, and each year gets its own registration page on s-s-f.de.
