SaarFurDance is a furry dance night in Saarbrücken, the capital of the Saarland in south-west Germany. It takes place at the Tanzschule Euschen-Gebhardt, a dance school in the city centre, and has room for 150 guests. After a long break the dance came back in October 2025 as SaarFurDance III, and the fourth edition was set for Saturday, October 10, 2026. The date of the fifth edition has not been announced yet.
Doors open at 18:00, and the registration system lists the night as running until 03:00. The organizers promise wild music and fluffy dancing, a bar for a drink when you need a break from dancing, and a spacious fursuit lounge where suiters can take a break or leave their suit. For food, the organizers point guests to the restaurants of the Saarbrücken city centre, which stay open into the late evening, and the event page lists several within a few minutes' walk.
In 2025 the team also streamed the night live on the SaarFurDance Twitch channel for those who could not make it in person.
You sign up on the event page at saar-furdance.de, which uses the Südstaaten Furs e.V. registration system, so you need an account there first. For 2026 the basic ticket cost 25 EUR, and a Protogen sponsor level cost 35 EUR with a goodie added. For 2026, sign-up opened on June 24 and closed on September 16.
The dance is for adults only, and every guest must be 18 by the start of the event. Bring an official ID, a driving licence or a passport to the registration desk, because each person is identified at the door. The house rules say French driving licences are not accepted as ID. Fursuiters must register as fursuiters by ticking the fursuiter box in the form.
The rules also ban sexualised clothing and accessories, including puppy masks and suggestive harnesses, and fursuits or costumes made from real fur.
The Tanzschule Euschen-Gebhardt is at Richard-Wagner-Straße 9, 66111 Saarbrücken. Saarbrücken Hauptbahnhof, served by regional and long-distance trains, is about 500 metres or a seven-minute walk away. The Kaiserstraße stop on the S1 Saarbahn line is about 290 metres from the door.
By car, leave the A 620 at exit 17, WHB Saarcenter, and follow the parking guidance signs. The event page lists the Beethovenplatz and Neue Mitte car parks a few minutes away, both open around the clock, plus the BahnPark and the Q-Park at the station. For an overnight stay it names the B&B Hotel Hauptbahnhof, the InterCity Hotel and the Mercure, all within a 12-minute walk.
Metz, home of the Les Furfurieux convention, is about an hour's drive away across the French border.
SaarFurDance 5 is still waiting for a date. SaarFurDance IV was set for Saturday, October 10, 2026, with doors at 18:00 and the night running until 03:00, and the SaarFurDance Mastodon account is where the team announced the last two dates.
