Bavarian Furdance

The Bavarian Furdance is the largest standalone furry dance event in Europe. Twice a year, up to 600 furries can gather at Z-Bau in Nuremberg for an evening of DJ sets, fursuit dancing, and a catered buffet dinner. Organized by Bayern-Furs e.V., the BFD has grown from a casual gathering of 105 people in 2015 into a major capacity-limited event that anchors the German furdance calendar.

What to Expect

Doors open at 3 to 4 PM for registration and socializing. The main event runs from 5 PM to 2 AM. The evening starts with lighter music and brighter lighting, building through electro, 80s, rock, and alternative DJ sets as the night progresses.

The venue is Z-Bau, a cultural center in Nuremberg with dedicated areas for dancing, socializing and fursuiting.

The fursuit lounge is well-equipped with fans, clothing racks, hydration supplies, and repair stations. Fursuiters receive free beverages in the lounge area. A full buffet dinner is included in every ticket tier, which distinguishes the BFD from most other furdances where food is separate.

How to Get Tickets

Registration runs through reg.bayern-furs.de. The official site publishes four advance tiers for BFD18 on November 14, 2026, and says the sponsor levels are unchanged from the previous edition. Every tier includes event entry, the buffet and a badge:

• Attendee, EUR 36.50. Entry, buffet, badge and an attendee lanyard.
• Sponsor, EUR 46.50. Adds a sponsor lanyard, a sponsor poster and a sponsor gift.
• Super Sponsor, EUR 56.50. Adds a super sponsor lanyard and gift in place of the sponsor ones.
• Ultra Sponsor, EUR 66.50 plus a donation. Adds a rainbow ultra sponsor lanyard and both gifts, and the club invites you to give more if you want to.

The club is explicit that the sponsor levels are donations in all but name, and that roughly 5, 10 and 15 euros of each upper tier is exactly that.

The official history lists a 600-person location limit for both 2025 editions, so register early. The door price is lower than advance registration and buys much less: if the event has not sold out, entry on the night is EUR 25 and gets you a wristband only, with none of the packages above. Minors may attend with a parental guardian (both need tickets and special registration).

How to Get There

Z-Bau is located at Frankenstrasse 200, 90461 Nuremberg. It is accessible by public transit from Nuremberg Hauptbahnhof (main station). The venue has limited parking, so public transit or rideshare is recommended.

Nuremberg is well-connected by train from Munich (1 hour), Frankfurt (2 hours), and Berlin (3 to 4 hours).

Is the Bavarian Furdance 18+?

Yes. The event is 18+ by default. Minors may attend only with a parental guardian present, and both the minor and guardian must register and purchase tickets through the special registration process.

Do I need a fursuit to attend?

No. Expect a mix of full fursuiters, partial suiters, and people in regular clothes. All are equally welcome.
