Kemoket is a recurring Japanese kemono marketplace for animal, anthro, dragon, and mascot-focused work. KEMOKET 17 was a one-day event on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Tokyo Ryutsu Center in Ota City, Tokyo. It is closer to a focused doujin market than a hotel-weekend convention, so the useful planning questions are admission, queues, transport, and how much time you want for the creator floor.
KEMOKET 17 ran on Sunday, September 20, 2026, from 12:00 to 16:00 at Tokyo Ryutsu Center (TRC). The organizer listed 670 direct-participation spaces, which describes the seller side of the event and should not be read as an attendee total. The official general-participant guidance checked on September 13 said general visitors could arrive from 10:00, should follow the queue instructions, and needed the event catalogue to enter. The official catalogue notice at that time listed the price as 1,500 JPY and said admission would become free if the catalogue sold out. The official homepage has since moved on to the separate New Year Kemoket 結 2027 edition, so confirm the edition name before using shared organizer pages for future details. The organizer later reported that donations collected at KEMOKET 17 totaled ¥339,108, remitted to 「日本赤十字社の令和8年熊本地震災害義援金」.
Kemoket is a strong fit if your main reason for travelling is browsing Japanese kemono art, comics, goods, and creator tables in person. The market format puts the creator floor at the centre of the day instead of spreading attention across a hotel programme, room parties, and multi-day badge activities. That makes the event easy to understand for a first visit, but it also means you should plan for a concentrated and potentially busy few hours rather than a full convention weekend. The official participant requirements cover animals, anthros, dragons, and mascot characters, with both original and derivative work allowed within the organizer's rules. English, Chinese, and Korean visitor guidance is linked from the official site, which gives international attendees a useful starting point before they arrive. KEMOKET 17 also has a designated costume area, while ordinary cosplay is generally restricted under the current FAQ and visitor rules.
The official schedule currently lists New Year Kemoket 結 for January 24, 2027, at TRC and Kansai Kemoket 12 for April 18, 2027, at INTEX Osaka. Those are separate editions in the same event family, with their own dates and venue details. For a Tokyo visit, use the KEMOKET 17 information above and confirm which edition a future announcement names before booking travel.
Headline rate on record. The full tier ladder for 2026 has not been published yet, so check the convention's own site before you budget.
Kemoket takes place at Tokyo Ryutsu Center (TRC), 6-1-1 Heiwajima, Ota City, Tokyo 143-0006, Japan. The venue's official access page identifies Ryutsu Center Station on the Tokyo Monorail as the closest rail stop and gives the venue's official address. From Haneda Airport, the Tokyo Monorail trip to the venue is listed by TRC as approximately five to eleven minutes. From Hamamatsucho, the same route is approximately ten minutes, while Tokyo Station and Shinagawa are listed at approximately sixteen and fifteen minutes respectively by train and monorail. The venue also publishes bus routes from Omori and Heiwajima stations. For drivers, TRC lists access from the Oi-Minami and Heiwajima interchanges at approximately five minutes, but the 2025 English visitor guidance says there is no event parking, so public transport is the safer plan. Arrive with your catalogue plan and queue arrangements settled before reaching the station, since the organizer asks attendees not to use the station area as a meeting point during queue formation.
Curated stays near Tokyo Ryutsu Center (TRC), Tokyo, Japan.
Tokyo Ryutsu Center is an event venue rather than an attached convention hotel, and the current Kemoket pages do not publish an attendee room block. That means you can choose accommodation based on the rest of your Tokyo trip instead of needing to stay at one official con hotel. The most convenient search areas are around the Tokyo Monorail corridor, Ota and Omori, or central districts with an easy connection to Hamamatsucho. Staying closer to Haneda can make an early arrival or late departure simpler, while staying in central Tokyo gives you more evening dining and sightseeing options after the four-hour market. When comparing rooms, check the first and last train connections for your chosen dates and allow extra time for the official queue procedure. Do not assume that a hotel reservation includes admission, a queue priority, or a badge, because the organizer's admission model is the catalogue. If you want to carry purchases back to your hotel, pack a foldable bag and leave enough room for books and merchandise. The venue's own visitor guidance also limits eating and drinking inside the building, so plan a meal before entering or use permitted facilities outside the market areas.
