Hi Furry runs twice yearly: a spring edition over China's May Day holiday and an autumn edition over the National Day Golden Week. Each edition has its own four-character Chinese theme:

Hi Furry, like most Chinese furry conventions, does not run a named guest-of-honor program or formal charity beneficiary model. Its programming model emphasizes themes, faction competitions, and stage performances over headlined guests. Operational announcements happen on Bilibili, Weibo, and QQ rather than Western platforms.

Hi Furry returned to the Hilton Foshan on May 1-4, 2026 with the 赤羽逐光 (Red Wings Chasing Light) theme, a phoenix/flight-toward-radiance motif consistent with the convention's poetic four-character naming pattern. Programming included public lectures, rhythm-game night events, and cloud-viewing livestreams. Hi Furry has never published an attendance figure for any edition, so we do not have one.
The spring 2025 edition (May 1-4) ran with theme 古域织影 (Ancient Realm Weaving Shadows) at the Foshan Hilton. The fall 2025 edition (Oct 1-4) introduced theme 森野纪事 (Forest Wild Chronicles) at Nansha Lingnan Oriental Hotel and IFF Conference Center in Guangzhou, the convention's first venue change beyond the Foshan and Wanfu Hiltons.
The spring 2024 edition (May 1-4) ran with theme 林海觅径 (Forest Path) at the Foshan Hilton. The fall 2024 edition (Oct 1-4) introduced theme 糖果奇遇 (Candy Adventure) at the same venue.
The inaugural Hi Furry editions launched at Wanfu Hilton, Guangzhou. Spring 2023 (Apr 29-May 1) carried theme 向阳而生 (Sun-Facing Growth); fall 2023 (Sep 30-Oct 2) ran with theme 星野绘梦 (Starfield Dreams) at the same venue.

A custom theme song and Steam Workshop wallpaper every edition
Most furry conventions commission one-off theme art per edition. Hi Furry ships a full custom media package every six months: a theme song (composer @原色龙), an animated dynamic wallpaper published to Steam Workshop via Wallpaper Engine (drawn by @沟鼠er, animated by @菟狐, logo by @大黑黑子), a 大合照 mass fursuit group photo, and an electronic conbook (电子场刊). The same recurring creator collective has carried this pipeline across all seven editions from 向阳而生 (spring 2023) through 赤羽逐光 (spring 2026), con-authored creative IP at a cadence and Steam Workshop distribution surface peer Asian conventions do not match.
Tickets sold only through the WeChat ecosystem
Hi Furry has never published a tier ladder, sponsor add-on, or walk-in delta on its public website. Between editions the site reads "票务系统维护中" ("ticket system under maintenance") and all commerce moves into the WeChat ecosystem, with attendee channels split across QQ groups (first two reached cap, third 552368045 still open), Weibo, WeChat OA, Bilibili, and Douyin. Western platforms (Twitter, YouTube) are secondary signal channels, Wayback has 0 captures of @HiFurryOfficial. The closed-commerce pattern is typical of licensed Chinese events and is a cultural structural choice, not a research gap.
Corporate LLC operator, not a fan nonprofit
Hi Furry is operated by Beijing-registered 北京花之夜文化传媒有限公司 (Hua Zhi Ye Cultural Media Co Ltd) under ICP licence 京ICP备2023002507号-1, a corporate LLC rather than the fan-run nonprofit model most Western furry cons use. The convention also forgoes both named guest-of-honor programs and formal charity beneficiaries, focusing instead on themes, faction competitions, stamp challenges, escape rooms, fursuit claw machines, and Maimai DX arcade nights. Sponsors receive custom-engraved 兽牌 fursona name badges and personalized credits at closing.
