CampFire Tails is an outdoor camping-format furry convention held near La Pine in Oregon's Deschutes National Forest. Capped at around 150 attendees through a lottery-based registration system, its $100 fee covers a campsite and two daily meals. The 2025 edition raised $11,143 for the Cat Adoption Team.
Operating out of the Ogden Group Camp near La Pine, Oregon, this convention is fully dedicated to the camping format. The 2026 event runs June 11-15 with the "A Midsummer Night's Shrinking" theme.
Instead of DJ raves and dealer dens, attendees engage in campfire hangouts, barbecues, music, and community bonding. Because capacity in the national forest is strictly limited to protect the environment and preserve the intimate summer-camp atmosphere, CampFire Tails uses a lottery-based registration system.
The $100 registration fee covers both your camping spot and two daily meals prepared by volunteer kitchen staff.
