PAWS (パウズ) is a board game meet for kemono fans in Osaka. Its organizer describes it as a meet where people play many kinds of board games, without caring about winning, as a way to make friends with other kemono fans. You do not need to own games or know the rules well to join.
The organizer's TwiPla lists a PAWS meet about every two months since February 2024. PAWS meets next on Sunday, January 17, 2027, at the Osaka Prefectural Social Welfare Hall.
The room is open from 10:00 to 20:30, and you can come and go as you like. The organizer brings a selection from its own game collection, and attendees may bring games too if they can explain the rules to others. Most of the games have nothing to do with kemono; the point is meeting other kemono fans at the table.
Lunch is allowed in the room from 12:00 to 13:30 only. At other times, only drinks with lids and individually wrapped snacks are allowed. Gambling games, video games, phone games, trading card games, fursuits (including partial suits), alcohol, smoking and sleeping are not allowed. Bring a name tag or business card, since the meet is about getting to know people.
Register on the January 2027 TwiPla listing. The fee is 1,500 yen, paid in cash on the day, with up to 48 places. You must be a kemono fan, and the organizer checks this from your X account or similar; people it cannot confirm are removed from the list unless the organizer agrees. If you cannot attend, move yourself to "not attending" on TwiPla, because people who miss a meet without notice may be refused later.
The Osaka Prefectural Social Welfare Hall is at 7-4-15 Tanimachi, Chuo-ku, Osaka, and the meet uses room 405 on the fourth floor. The organizer gives a 5-minute walk from exit 4 of Tanimachi 6-chome Station on the Osaka Metro, 10 minutes from exit 2 of Tanimachi 9-chome Station, and 15 minutes from Kintetsu Osaka-Uehommachi Station. A building with a similar name, the Social Welfare Guidance Center, is across the road, so check the sign. The venue car park has no daily cap, so the organizer suggests nearby pay car parks.
Sunday, January 17, 2027, from 10:00 to 20:30.
