Otterdance is a Dutch furry dance night that grew from a 50-person party at an arts center to a 200-person sellout in just five editions. Founded in Rotterdam in 2022, it has since moved to Amsterdam's Akhnaton venue. The event is run by Stichting Otterdam, a foundation that also organized the world's first Furry Studies academic conference.
Otterdance follows a straightforward club night format: DJs, dancing, a fursuit-friendly environment, and a bar. Events have been held at real club and arts venues rather than rented community halls, giving the night a distinctly urban feel.
Editions 1 through 3 were at Rotterdam venues (WORM, Roodkapje). Editions 4 and 5 moved to Akhnaton in Amsterdam. Check otterdance.club for venue updates.
Tickets are available through tickets.otterdam.org. Historical pricing was EUR 10 (early bird), EUR 16 (advance), EUR 21 (door). Editions consistently sell out, so register early.
Akhnaton is in central Amsterdam, accessible from Amsterdam Centraal station. Rotterdam venues were near Rotterdam Centraal. Both cities are well-connected by train from across the Netherlands and neighboring countries.
