The Eagle Furdance is the only standalone furdance in Switzerland, running annually since 2014 in Aarau. Founded because there were no other furdances in the country, it has carved out a unique niche with a chill-out lounge that includes a bowling alley, an NFC badge cashless payment system, and a Twitch livestream attempt each year.
The lounge bar and bowling alley open at 2 PM, giving attendees a relaxed afternoon before the evening kicks off. The discotheque and cocktail bar open at 5 PM, with DJ sets running through to roughly 02:00. A fursuit lounge is available for fursuiters only, with photos and videos strictly prohibited inside and drinks not allowed to be carried out.
The venue uses an NFC badge cashless payment system for bar purchases. A CHF 5 surcharge applies if you pay cash directly at the door. Real fur of any kind is strictly prohibited at the event, and pets are not allowed because the loud music would be harmful to animals.
Registration is at eaglefurdance.com via the in-house registration portal at register.eaglefurdance.com. The event has run every year since 2014 except 2016. The 9th edition ran on March 28, 2026; the next edition (likely March 2027) has not yet been announced.
Disco Metropol is at Tellistrasse 67, 5004 Aarau. Aarau is about 50 km west of Zurich and well-connected by train (30 minutes from Zurich Hauptbahnhof, 60 minutes from Bern). Parking is at the Telli Center, where the first three hours are free, and parking after 18:00 is free. For overnight stays, Hotel Kettenbrücke Aarau and Sorell Hotel Aarauerhof are both about a 15-minute walk from the venue.
Yes, 18+. The site states verbatim: "Participation is allowed for persons who have reached the age of 18 on the day of the event."
The bowling alley in the chill-out lounge, the NFC badge cashless payment system, and the species-aware "no real fur" policy. It is also the only standalone furdance in Switzerland.
Swissfurs Verein, the same registered Swiss nonprofit association that runs Golden Leaves Con, Switzerland's flagship furry convention.
No. Despite sharing the name with the international Eagle bar chain, the Eagle Furdance is unrelated, and it is a general furry electronic/dance event with mainstream furry programming, organised by the same nonprofit behind Golden Leaves Con. The site does not explain the naming origin.
