Futerkon (Futerkon) 2026 is scheduled for Jul 29-Aug 2, 2026 at Centrum Szkoleniowo-Konferencyjne OSSA. The announced theme is Futrzasta Akademia Policyjna (CANCELLED). Guest of honor information lists Essex, WHSPRS.
Futerkon's roots go back to Futrzakon, Poland's first furry convention, which launched September 26-28, 2008 in Dzierżążna with 37 attendees. After four editions, a new organizing team rebranded the convention to Futerkon in 2012 and rebuilt it around immersive year-long themes. Growth has been steady: roughly 100 attendees by the seventh edition, 180 at the first Hotel Ameliówka edition in 2020, 230+ in 2022, and a peak around 288 in 2024.

Public 250-attendee threshold triggered the 2026 cancellation
Futerkon 2026 was cancelled on 8 May 2026 under a transparent, pre-published mechanism rare among furry cons. On 28 April organisers posted "Ważna informacja!" disclosing that 250 paid akredytacji were needed by 7 May to honor the CKS OSSA hotel contract. The threshold was missed, the edition was cancelled the next day, and a 14-day full-refund procedure ran through the participant portal. Most cons cancel with vague PR; Futerkon documented the exact number, the deadline, and the refund window upfront.
Akredytacja Plus let you password-lock an entire hotel room
The 2026 Akredytacja Plus tier (700 PLN, available only 22 Mar - 3 Apr) let attendees set a password on a full hotel room until 12 April, blocking strangers from being assigned to it. After that window the room reverted to standard shared assignment. A bookable privacy lock with a narrow purchase window and a hard expiry is structurally unusual; peer cons either guarantee single rooms outright or share rooms blind.
No attending-only tier: lodging bundle was mandatory
The 2026 registration ladder had no day pass and no attending-only option, "uczestnictwo bez zakwaterowania nie jest możliwe". Every attendee bought a bundled four-night package: 2/3-person room at 1799 PLN per person or single at 2399 PLN, all-inclusive buffet plus wellness/SPA access, on top of the 400 PLN reservation fee and any sponsor add-on. Minimum total around 2199 PLN (~€517). The forced-residential model is what made the 250-attendee hotel-contract threshold so unforgiving.
