Sheffield Furs runs the Steel City furmeet, a monthly furry meet in central Sheffield. The meets are usually on the last Saturday of the month at Perch Brewhouse on Garden Street, though the date can move when the venue is booked. The next meet is on Saturday, October 31, 2026, and the organizers encourage dressing spookily. They post each date on the Sheffield Furs Bluesky in the days or weeks before the meet.
The day starts with a meet-up at the main entrance of Sheffield railway station between 11:30 and 12:00, and then the group walks to the venue. The meet itself starts at Perch Brewhouse at around 12:30 and usually closes at 17:00. You can also make your own way to the venue.
People come to chat, eat, drink, play board and card games and hang out in fursuits. Most meets have a pub quiz run by the meet staff, and there is sometimes a raffle. There is no fursuit walk for now, but fursuiting at the venue is welcome, and a screened-off area is set up for changing and storing suits. Recent meets have had a fursuit group photo in the afternoon, around 15:30.
The meet has the whole venue, but it stays open to the public, so pup and fetish gear is not allowed. Much of the space is a covered outdoor area, so dress for the weather. The bar serves alcoholic and alcohol-free drinks, and the food menu is mainly burgers and pizzas with vegetarian and vegan options. Outside food and drink may not be eaten or drunk inside the venue.
Sheffield Furs sells no tickets and publishes no entry fee. Everyone covers their own meals and drinks from the Perch Brewhouse menu.
You do not need to be a fursuiter, or even a furry, to come. Under-18s are allowed at the venue but may not drink alcohol, and the organizers say anyone under 16 should come with a parent or guardian.
Perch Brewhouse is on Garden Street, Sheffield S1 4BJ, in the city centre. The easiest route is the Sheffield Supertram: from the railway station, take the Blue or Purple line to the Cathedral stop, and the venue is a 5 to 10 minute walk from there. Drivers can use the city centre Q-Park car parks, including the one at the railway station.
The next meet is on Saturday, October 31, 2026; the November date has not been announced. Meets are usually on the last Saturday of the month, but check the Sheffield Furs Bluesky for the confirmed date.
