Roar is Sacramento's monthly furry dance night, held every third Saturday at Radclyffe's at 1330 H Street. Organized by CapAnthro (Capitol City Anthropomorphics), Sacramento's regional fandom community team, Roar runs from 9 PM to 2 AM with a $7 door cover ($5 in fursuit) and a 21+ age policy.
Roar is a straightforward queer-friendly furry dance night at a Sacramento bar - rotating DJ lineups, dancing, socializing, and drinks. The format runs from doors at 9 PM through last call at 1 AM and the floor closes at 2 AM. Cover at the door is $7 in cash, dropped to $5 when you arrive in fursuit (a Radclyffe's venue policy that CapAnthro repeats on every announcement). Pup gear and kink gear are welcomed alongside fursuits, with the standard "no visible genitalia or lewd acts in or around the bar" rule belonging to the venue.
DJ lineups rotate every edition - recent residents include DABKOTA, TRASHBANDI, DJ CAPY, and DJ NIGHTKAT - and the floor stays electronic and dance-coded rather than committing to a single subgenre. Themed editions show up around the calendar: the October edition is Halloween-themed (the 2024 edition was billed as the "Rocky Roarer Picture Show II"), December is winter-themed, and February has run as "Puppy Love" since the move to Radclyffe's.
The Sacramento furry community runs Roar as one prong of CapAnthro's broader portfolio. The same org operates weekly ScribbleFurs art meetups at ASATTB and Wednesday community dinners that rotate between Suzie Burger, Don Quixote's, MOD Pizza, Nick The Greek, and the IKEA cafe. Roar is the flagship monthly social anchor; the weekday meetups fill the quieter cadence in between.
There is no online registration or ticket portal. Pay the $7 door cover in cash at Radclyffe's, or $5 if you arrive in fursuit. For schedule changes, themed editions, and DJ announcements follow @RoarPartySac on Twitter, Bluesky, or Instagram, or the CapAnthro Telegram channel which carries the canonical month-by-month ledger.
Radclyffe's is at 1330 H Street, Suite 110, in Midtown Sacramento. It is accessible by Sacramento Regional Transit light rail and a short walk from most Midtown rideshare drop-offs. Street parking around 14th Street fills up by 10 PM on Roar nights, so plan for the surrounding blocks.
Note: through January 2025 Roar ran at Bear Dive, a separate establishment at the same 1330 H Street address - if you find older guides referencing the Bear Dive entrance on 14th Street, that information is from the prior venue era and no longer applies.
Yes, 21+. Radclyffe's is a hard-liquor bar without a food anchor, which California ABC liquor law gates to 21 and over.
