Furvine is a free, volunteer-run furry meet in Irvine, California, built around a grill and potluck hangout in the park. The rules call it an all-ages, family-friendly community event, and fursuits and costumes are welcome unless an event says otherwise. Its October 2026 meet, the Halloween edition "Furvine but Spooky", was set for Saturday, October 17, from 9 AM to 5 PM at Mason Regional Park, with a costume contest.
A Furvine day is a relaxed park hangout: people bring food to share, fire up the grill, sit at the art table, sing karaoke and catch up in and out of suit. The October flyer asks everyone to bring food, snacks or supplies for the group, with a supply sheet posted in the chat. The exact spot inside the park is pinned in the Telegram chat on the day.
The organizers keep the meet strictly safe for work. Their dress code allows fursuits, ears and tails, cosplay, pride gear and collars without a leash, but bans kink or fetish gear, very revealing clothing and anything that looks like a real weapon. Alcohol, cannabis and other intoxicants are not allowed, and vaping has to happen away from the meetup area.
Potluck rules are specific: shared food goes on the main table, homemade perishables must be made no more than a day or two before, raw-meat dishes are not allowed, and any meat for the grill is cooked by an admin. If you have dietary needs, bring something you can eat and share.
There is no ticket. Join the Furvine Telegram group or the team's Discord for the date, the supply sheet and the pinned location on the day. The group description links to the full rules document, which covers chat behaviour, the dress code, potluck food safety and the consent policy.
All minors must come with a responsible adult, and the staff are clear that they do not supervise children. Anyone who feels unwell on the day is asked to stay home, because some attendees and staff are immunocompromised.
Mason Regional Park is at 18712 University Drive in Irvine. The October flyer lists a $5 parking fee at the park. Look for the pinned location in the Telegram chat once you arrive, because the group picks its spot inside the park on the day.
Host ParaFaux shared a group photo of the first Furvine in September 2023. The same team also runs the occasional SoCal FurBowl bowling night at Irvine Lanes. In December 2025 the team announced that from 2026 Furvine would run every other month, in February, April, June, August, October and December, because of the time and money each meet takes.
Other Southern California meets include LoCal Metro Furs, which rides public transit around Los Angeles, and Howloween at UC San Diego.
Entry is free. Furvine is a potluck, so bring something to share, and budget for the $5 park parking fee listed on the October flyer.
