LoCal Metro Furs is a monthly furry meetup in Los Angeles that travels by public transit. Each meet picks a train or bus route and a destination, and the group rides there together, in or out of fursuit. The group describes itself as an all-ages, safe-for-work community for fans of public transit. Its October 2026 meet, "The A Line Furry Invasion Revisit!", was set for Saturday, October 17, from 2 PM to 8 PM.
The ride is the event. The group's October 17, 2026 meet was planned as a ride on the Metro A Line light rail along both its southern and northern sections, between Downtown Long Beach and Pomona North, with a treat stop at The Donut Man and Baskin Robbins in Glendora. That ride was a joint meet with xFITSx (Furs In The Scene) and San Gabriel Valley Furs, and the group calls it fursuit and partial friendly.
Past meets show the range: a potluck at Corral Beach in Malibu reached on Metro Local 134 from Downtown Santa Monica Station, and an afternoon exploring South Pasadena and its farmers market from South Pasadena Station. The group is independent and says it is not affiliated with LA Metro, so normal Metro rules and fares apply on board.
There is no ticket or sign-up fee. Follow the LoCal Metro Furs Bluesky for each meet's flyer, and join the Telegram group or Discord for questions and the group rules.
The meeting point changes with every route. For the A Line ride, the organizers named Union Station in Downtown Los Angeles at 2 PM as the meeting point when they announced the original September date, and the October 17 flyer keeps the 2 PM start. Union Station is the main rail hub of Downtown Los Angeles, so the meeting point can be reached without a car.
The group charges nothing to join a meet. You pay your own Metro fare and any food stops along the way.
Yes. The organizers call their meets fursuit and partial friendly. The organizers postponed the September 2026 ride because of extreme heat.
No. It is an independent community group, and it says it is not affiliated with LA Metro.
Each meet announces its own meeting point on Bluesky and Telegram. For the October 17, 2026 A Line ride, the meeting point named for the original September date was Union Station in Downtown Los Angeles at 2 PM, and the October flyer gives the same 2 PM start.
