Fur-Day is a three-day summer furmeet run by NormandiFurs, the furry association of Normandy, in the seaside village of Bernières-sur-Mer in Calvados. It started in 2020 and is timed for the association's birthday at the end of July, alongside its general assembly. The next date has not been announced.
The organizers describe Fur-Day as a furmeet of about three days over a weekend, meant for enjoying the summer on the beach, getting together, playing and singing. Recent editions ran from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon in a village hall, with a kitchen, fridges, microwaves and ovens that everyone could use to cook shared meals. The association does not provide meals or drinks, so most people shop at the supermarket a few minutes' walk from the hall. Past activity lists included a dance evening with the town's festival committee, karaoke with DJs, swimming and sunbathing, board and video games, quizzes and fursuiting, and the 2024 edition had a fursuit lounge. Fursuiters also walk through the village, and the organizers present this as a chance to entertain residents and tourists.
Tickets are sold through the NormandiFurs page on HelloAsso, and the link is posted on the association's Telegram channel when sales open. The 2026 edition cost 5 EUR, and the organizers warned that places were very limited. In 2024 the public ticket was also 5 EUR, described as the price for non-members, and only ticket holders could enter the hall, its activities and the fursuit lounge. The 2022 and 2023 editions were free. Watch the NormandiFurs Telegram channel for the next ticket release.
The 2022, 2023 and 2024 editions used the Salle de la Mer on Place du 6 Juin, 14990 Bernières-sur-Mer. The 2026 ticket announcement did not name a venue, so check the ticket page before you travel. The organizers noted free parking in front of the hall, in the next street and in a larger car park opposite the Intermarché supermarket, all without a time limit. The hall has no overnight space: the organizers suggest renting a gîte or flat in the village, the Capfun campsite, or rooms in nearby Courseulles-sur-Mer or Douvres-la-Délivrande.
The organizer pages we read do not state an age policy for Fur-Day. Ask NormandiFurs before buying a ticket if this matters to you.
No. The organizers list fursuiting alongside beach time, games, karaoke and dance evenings, so you can take part without a suit. In 2024 the organizers ran a fursuit lounge in the hall for those who suit.
No. There is no lodging in the hall, so book a gîte, flat or campsite in Bernières-sur-Mer or a nearby town.
The next date has not been announced. Recent editions took place in late July or August, and the organizers post dates and ticket links on their Telegram channel.
