18+ photo-ID gate paired with the Companion Card guest pass
WAFF is 18+ only, and the registration desk double-matches the photo ID against the booking record on both legal name AND date of birth, most furcons match name only. The published terms are unambiguous: "WAFF conventions are age-restricted to 18+ only … Failure to provide valid Photo ID that matches the Date of Birth and Legal Name on your registration form" will be refused entry.
Esplanade Hotel as registration-bundled hub
The Esplanade Hotel Fremantle by Rydges isn't just the venue, it's the core of the registration mechanic. Sponsor and Premium tickets unlock a hotel-room slot that attaches to the registration record from a published Esplanade inventory: Superior Room (29 slots), Superior Twin Room (10 slots), plus Superior Pool View Twin and Superior Double Double in smaller numbers, all handled inside the same RegFox transaction with a waitlist field for sell-outs.
Perth isolation: the only WA furcon, 2,100 km from the nearest mainland one
Perth is the most isolated capital city in the world, the nearest larger city is Adelaide, roughly 2,100 km east, a 3.5-hour direct flight. WAFF has been the only furry convention in Western Australia since 2017: the entire state of WA (2.6 million km²) has one con, and the next nearest mainland furry convention is Adelaide Anthros in Glenelg, SA, which only became multi-day in 2026.
