Adelaide Anthros (A2) is a furry convention held in Glenelg, a beachside suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. Grown from the city's earlier one-day furry gatherings, A2 steps up to a two-day format in 2026 at the Oaks Glenelg Plaza Pier Suites, bringing the local furry community together for socializing, fursuiting, vendors, and entertainment beside the sea.
Adelaide Anthros runs November 7-8, 2026 at the Oaks Glenelg Plaza Pier Suites. Saturday is open to all ages, while Sunday is reserved for attendees aged 18 and over. The theme and guests of honour for 2026 had not been announced at the time of writing.
Registration is AUD $100 for a standard two-day pass (or $130 with the convention shirt), with a $250 sponsor tier that includes a Friday cocktail event the evening before Saturday programming opens. Single-day passes are $50 for either day, and kids under 8 attend Saturday free. Check the official site for the latest registration details before booking travel.
Adelaide Anthros is South Australia's home-grown furry event, small enough that most attendees end up knowing each other, and held on the Glenelg foreshore. Its compact size makes it welcoming for first-timers and locals who want a furry weekend without travelling interstate to a larger convention. Wide open spaces for fursuiting, a dealers den, DJ sets, panels, and games round out the programming.

Both days, a printed con book, a lanyard and a registration badge. 130 bundled with a shirt
Adds a con shirt, a con bag of goodies and the exclusive Friday-night cocktail party
The two days have DIFFERENT AGE POLICIES: Saturday is all ages, including Friday pre-registration, and Sunday is 18+ only. That is why a free kids day pass exists for Saturday and none exists for Sunday. A2 grew from one day to two this year. Day passes are door-only and capped, so the convention advises arriving early. A shirt can be pre-ordered separately for 30 but that closes on 22 August, well before ticket sales end on 7 November. Companion cards are accepted and the companion must stay with the ticket holder throughout. The con no longer stores belongings at con-ops.
By air: Fly into Adelaide Airport (ADL), which sits roughly 15-20 minutes from Glenelg by car or taxi.
By car: Glenelg is about a 20-minute drive west of Adelaide's city centre via Anzac Highway. Parking around the foreshore is metered and can fill quickly on weekends, so arrive early or use a nearby car park.
By transit: The historic Glenelg tram runs directly from Adelaide's city centre (Victoria Square / Rundle Mall) to Moseley Square at Glenelg, a short walk from the venue. It is the easiest car-free way to reach the convention.

Adelaide Anthros ran as a one-day event on 8 March 2025 at Jackson Square in Hindmarsh, an inner-western Adelaide suburb. 2026 marks its move to a two-day, beachside format at Oaks Glenelg Plaza Pier Suites. The team also runs Fur Dinkum, a furry dance party staged as part of the Adelaide Fringe Festival. As verified attendance figures and themes from earlier editions become publicly available, this section will be updated.

Beachside venue: Oaks Glenelg Plaza Pier Suites on Holdfast Promenade
Adelaide Anthros runs right on the beach. The venue, the Oaks Glenelg Plaza Pier Suites, sits at 16 Holdfast Promenade on the Glenelg foreshore, an apartment-style hotel where the front door faces the sand and the back door is a two-minute walk to Moseley Square and the Glenelg tram terminus.
Getting to Glenelg: ADL airport and the 1873 tram
Adelaide Airport (ADL) is about 5 km from the venue, one of the shortest airport-to-badge runs on the Asia-Pacific furry calendar. The car-free option is the Glenelg tram: from Adelaide''s CBD (Victoria Square / Rundle Mall) it terminates at Moseley Square, a short walk to the Oaks.
Saturday all-ages, Sunday 18+: a codified two-day age split
The two-day 2026 schedule runs as a codified age split: Saturday programming is open to all ages (kids under 8 attend free), and Sunday is reserved for attendees 18 and over. The Sponsor tier ($250 AUD) also unlocks a Friday cocktail event the evening before Saturday programming opens, effectively a three-day weekend for top-tier buyers.
