How Do I Get to Aurawra?

The PARKROYAL Parramatta is located in the Parramatta CBD, about 24 kilometres west of Sydney's city centre:

Flying: Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport (SYD) is the nearest international airport. From SYD, Parramatta is roughly 45 minutes by car or rideshare, depending on traffic. The airport serves all major international and domestic carriers.
Train: The T1 Western Line connects Sydney's Central Station to Parramatta Station in about 30 minutes. Parramatta Station is a short walk from the PARKROYAL. From the airport, take the Airport Link to Central, then transfer to the T1 Western Line toward Parramatta.
Sydney Metro West: The new Metro West line (opening in stages) will further improve access between the Sydney CBD and Parramatta with faster journey times.
Bus and Ferry: Parramatta is served by multiple bus routes from surrounding suburbs. The Parramatta River ferry connects Parramatta Wharf to Circular Quay in the Sydney CBD, offering a scenic alternative to rail.
Driving: The M4 Western Motorway connects Parramatta to the broader Sydney road network. Paid parking is available at several car parks near the hotel.

Where Should I Stay for Aurawra?

PARKROYAL Parramatta: The convention venue is the most convenient choice. Staying on-site means no commute and easy access to all events, including late-night programming. Book early, as con-rate rooms fill quickly.
Parramatta CBD: The surrounding area has a range of options from budget hotels to serviced apartments, all within walking distance of the PARKROYAL. Look along Church Street or near Parramatta Square.
Sydney CBD: If you prefer to stay closer to Sydney's main attractions (Darling Harbour, Circular Quay), the train commute from Central to Parramatta is about 30 minutes each way. This works if you plan to explore Sydney before or after the convention.

Sydney Wildlife Centre named a rescue bat "Aurawra"
AurAwra 2024 (Mountains of Mayhem) raised $20,246 for Sydney Wildlife Centre, and the centre returned the favour by naming one of their rescued bats "Aurawra", the official history page carries the partner''s message and a photo of the namesake bat cuddling a toy monkey.
Parramatta over Sydney CBD: a deliberate Year 3 westward move
AurAwra ran its first two years (2022 New Beginnings, 2023 The Lost Empire) at the Novotel Sydney Olympic Park before moving 8 km further west to PARKROYAL Parramatta in 2024 (Mountains of Mayhem), and staying ever since.
NSW Anthro Group Inc. and the FurJAM operator pool
AurAwra is run by NSW Anthro Group Inc., a non-profit, and was first announced at FurJAM 2019, the long-running NSW Sydney furry meet/event series. AurAwra is not a FurJAM rebrand; both still exist as separate organisations.
