Furry8 (福瑞八奇物志) is a furry convention in Chengdu, China, held at the W Chengdu hotel in the city's Gaoxin (High-Tech Zone) financial district. It is the first Chengdu convention on FurryGuides and one of a wave of young mainland-China cons, running an ambitious full-venue hotel takeover.
Programming, guests, and ticket tiers are published late and in Chinese, across Weibo, Bilibili, and Douyin. The 2026 edition, themed 虚匣伪宴, takes over the whole hotel rather than a block of function rooms.
Furry8 stands out for its format: rather than renting a ballroom, the organizer buys out the entire W Chengdu, giving the convention run of a luxury hotel with a large official activity area. That makes it a rare chance to experience a mainland-China con where the fandom has the building to itself. Chengdu also makes an easy destination in its own right, a laid-back megacity known for pandas, Sichuan food, and a big student population, so the trip pairs well with a few days of sightseeing.
By air: Chengdu has two international airports. Chengdu Shuangliu International (CTU) is the closer of the two to the Gaoxin financial district in the south of the city, while Chengdu Tianfu International (TFU) sits further out to the southeast. Both connect to the city by metro and expressway.
By transit: The venue is in the Jiaozi Avenue financial district, served by Chengdu Metro Line 1 at the Financial City area stations in southern Chengdu. Ride-hailing apps are widely used and are the simplest option for visitors without a metro card.
By car: W Chengdu is on Jiaozi Avenue in the Gaoxin High-Tech Zone, close to the ring-road expressways that circle southern Chengdu. Ride-hailing is the easiest way to reach it for anyone without a local vehicle.
Because Furry8 buys out the whole of W Chengdu, the host hotel is the natural place to stay, keeping you inside the venue where the programming happens. Rooms typically open through the convention's own booking process alongside the usual hotel platforms.
Chengdu's south side is well served by metro and ride-hailing, so a nearby hotel is a practical fallback if the host hotel fills up.

Furry8's 2026 edition ran July 24-26 at W Chengdu as a full-venue hotel convention themed 虚匣伪宴. The organizer's July 30 notice says the official grand and full group photos were updated and apologizes that the event did not provide a comfortable participant experience. The official material checked for this refresh does not publish attendance, charity, guests, or ticket prices, so those fields remain TBA.
