FurGIV (Furry Gathering in Vietnam) is Hanoi's furry convention, first held in September 2024. Its 2026 edition ran as a single day at the Grand Vista Hotel under the school-themed "Pawful of Chalk," with comic and webtoon artist Chucky as guest of honor.
FurGIV has not announced a 2027 date, venue, theme or ticket prices yet. Its last post about the 2026 edition, the photo gallery of October 8, closed with "See you again next year!" The 2024 and 2026 editions both ran on a Saturday in mid-September, and the 2026 tickets went on sale in two online waves in June and July, so watch the convention's X account and website for the announcement.
FurGIV is northern Vietnam's home convention, the Hanoi counterpart to Ho Chi Minh City's FUVE, and it builds each edition around a strong, playful theme; in 2026 it was a whole-con school day. The organizers foreground a welcoming "safe space" mission and actively invite international guests, making it an approachable entry point for travelers exploring Southeast Asia's furry scene. With a named guest of honor and a step up to a larger hotel for 2026, it's a convention that is visibly growing.

By air: Hanoi is served by Noi Bai International Airport (HAN), roughly 45 minutes from the city center by taxi or ride-hailing app.
By road: The 2026 venue, the Grand Vista Hotel, sits on Giảng Võ, a central Hanoi street well connected to the rest of the city; taxis and ride-hailing apps are the simplest way in. FurGIV has not said where 2027 will be held.
FurGIV 2026 took place at the Grand Vista Hotel (146 P. Giảng Võ, Hà Nội), and its top ticket tier bundled two nights there. No 2027 venue is known yet; central Hanoi, including the Ba Đình and Đống Đa districts, has plenty of hotels once the location is known.

Registration for the 2026 edition has closed. Tickets were sold online in two waves, opening on June 21 and July 12, 2026, and Tier 5 sold out on the first day. Tier 5 included two hotel nights. Attendees had to be at least 16.
FurGIV's 2026 edition ran on September 19, 2026 at the Grand Vista Hotel in Hanoi's Giảng Võ area, a move up from the 2024 debut venue, under the theme "Pawful of Chalk" (Vietnamese: "Phấn Vạn Lông"), a back-to-school motif inviting attendees to relive their student years. Chucky, a freelance artist who specializes in comics and webtoons, was its guest of honor. Tickets were sold online in two waves in June and July, from USD 10 for the basic tier to USD 289 for a package with two hotel nights, and attendees had to be at least 16. The organizers later shared group photos, an official recap video and a photo gallery, but no attendance figure.
FurGIV held its first edition on September 14, 2024 at Complex 01 in Hanoi, establishing the convention as the city's home furry event. Detailed attendance figures for the debut are not published on official channels.
