The Were-House Art Market, or WHAM, is a free art market for Colorado's furry, queer and "otherwise-weird" creatives, run by the Colorado nonprofit Last Caw. It gives local artists a dealers' den without a full convention around it, and anyone can walk in to browse, buy, swap and hang out. The last two markets were held at the Edgewater Civic Center on Denver's western edge, and the next date has not been set yet.
WHAM is a daytime market. Local artists sell their own work at tables across the floor, and the 2025 edition had about 50 vendors. The 2025 event page also promised photos with Last Caw's mascots.
In 2025, away from the market floor, a lounge called the Nest offered a quieter spot with tabletop games and coffee from sponsor Dragon Roast Coffee. A free swap table, which Last Caw calls the Shinee Swap, let visitors drop off gently used clothes, art, tools or art supplies and take home anything they like.
Last Caw's code of conduct applies: the venue is treated as PG, artists must keep adult work out of public view and sell it only to verified adults in opaque packaging, and AI-generated art and NFTs are banned from sale.
Entry is free, and no ticket is needed. In 2024 Last Caw sold optional sponsor tickets with keychains, lanyards and stickers, and made clear that buying one was not required. Artists apply for a table through the WHAM page on lastcaw.cc when applications open, and must hold a Colorado sales tax certificate if they are not already a registered Colorado business.
The Edgewater Civic Center is at 1800 N Harlan Street in Edgewater, Colorado, just west of Denver. The 2024 Nest lounge was on the Civic Center's second-floor annex. The first WHAM in 2023 was held at Stanley Marketplace in Aurora instead, and Last Caw is considering a larger space for the next market, so check the event page for the venue.
Yes. Every WHAM so far has been free to attend. Optional sponsor tickets have been sold in some years for extra goodies, but you do not need one to get in.
The next date has not been announced. In late September 2026 Last Caw was weighing a weekday in January 2027 at a larger venue against its usual space, so follow the Last Caw Telegram channel for the decision.
Colorado furry, queer and otherwise-weird creatives can apply for a table on the WHAM page when applications open. Vendors need to be a registered Colorado business or hold a Colorado sales tax certificate.
Last Caw treats its venues as PG and requires adult artwork to stay covered and be sold only to verified adults. WHAM has no published age limit of its own, so contact Last Caw if you have a specific question.
