Fursdays is a 21+ furry night in Louisville, Kentucky, for fursuiters, furries and furry-adjacent friends. It alternates between two bars: themed Thursday nights at Big Bar on Bardstown Road and Saturday Fursdays+ nights at Kaiju on East Oak Street. The October 24, 2026 edition, the Spooky Scary Costume Party at Kaiju, is scheduled for a Saturday, followed by HallowYeen at Big Bar on Thursday, October 29.

What to Expect

Most of the action happens between 7:00 and 11:00 PM, and you are free to stay later and enjoy the venue. Every night has a theme, such as a Halloween costume party, a Pride night, an 80s party, karaoke, a silent disco or a movie night. The hosts take a group photo around 9:30 PM, in the main room at Big Bar and the main back room at Kaiju.

There is a headless lounge for costumers to change and cool down. At Big Bar it is on the second floor of the main room, and at Kaiju it is the first room on the left as you enter. The lounge may close and reopen to the public depending on how many costumers need it, and neither the hosts nor the venue are responsible for lost items. The organizers ask everyone to get consent before touching or hugging a costumer, and to report any harassment to a host.

The hosts photograph each night. If you would rather not be photographed, tell them, and you can ask through their social channels for a photo to be removed or blurred.

How to Join

Fursdays is open to anyone 21 or older, with no tickets or RSVP. The organizers say Fursdays itself does not charge a cover, and any cover is printed on that night's flyer. Some Kaiju collaborations have had a $5 bar cover for anyone arriving after 9:00 PM, so check the flyer and arrive early if you want to avoid it.
