Critter Céilí

Critter Céilí is an all-day furry social in Dublin run by the Irishfurries community at DV8 Bar & Venue. It started in July 2026, and the second edition, a spooky autumn take, is scheduled for Saturday, October 17, 2026. Entry is free, but you need a ticket, and the event is strictly 18+.

What to Expect

The organizers describe Critter Céilí as a chill, all-day hangout with fursuiting, catching up with friends and making new ones. The afternoon is the relaxed part of the day, and the summer edition encouraged people to bring their own board games. In the evening the tempo goes up, and for the October 17, 2026 edition the plan is karaoke first and then rotating furry DJs. You can come for the whole day, just the afternoon or only the night.

Fursuits are very welcome. A fursuit lounge and changing area is set up upstairs with volunteer attendants, and space is limited, so the organizers recommend a soft-shell bag rather than a hard case. DV8 is a working bar, so drinks will be around you all day, and looking after your suit is your own responsibility. The venue has no air conditioning, and at the July edition the organizers advised partial suits over full suits because of the heat. No finger food is provided, and food or drink from outside the venue is not allowed.

How to Get Tickets

Tickets are free and come through Eventbrite, and each person can claim up to two. Everyone needs to be 18 or older on the date of the event, and age is checked with government-issued ID at the door; bus passes and student cards are not accepted. Keep your Eventbrite QR code ready to get in quickly. Tickets can only be transferred through Eventbrite's own system.

In September 2026 the organizers said tickets for the autumn edition were going fast. If tickets run out, volunteering is still a way in: Irishfurries recruits a door crew and fursuit lounge stewards, and it says it will do its best to secure a ticket for anyone who signs up to help.
